A couple minor feature requests fulfilled
Anyone know the strikethrough command that will work in the Optional Fields section of user preferences?

Please confirm: HTML strikethrough command in the Optional Fields section of user preferences is hosed. Pull the fire alarm, sound general quarters, or just go nuts. Whatever.

Sans quoi?
footnote UN Owen is around and posting via her "husband's" account, InnocentBystander. I found this out because they posted virtually identical stories (1, 2) about getting bullied at a young age.
Give that footnote a gold shield!

Learning to resist the dismiss
I just made a dismissing attitude. In my pants.
Nice. Did you mean to make that comment from a sock puppet account? I ask because normally your comments are productive and helpful.

It's "thunder."
Oh shit, nm, my bad. It's plunder. Whatever, I get a free pass because I'm moving there in a couple of months.
No, it's "chunder" as in Aussie slang for "to vomit".
Oh, and, yeah, on topic: Americans are totally America-centric and generally ignorant of the world around them. Surprise surprise. That explains this obnoxious... [more]

Utter tripe!
Your prose style is like a slow-motion cumshot video compilation which has titillating intentionality but just ends up being funny. Like costume jewelry.
Costume jewelry gets a bad rap. Much of it is beautiful and tasteful. Consider the skilled jeweler's who were immigrants to the US and not able to work with precious metals in their new country because of discrimination. They instead made costume jewelry.... [more]

Boooooooooobs.
Occasionally I see a guy at the gym unabashedly staring at a woman working out in shorts and a sports bra. But staring is not the norm even in that environment. Just thought I would mention that.

All I want for Xmas is a meetup...with mathowie
I got to spend the day with Adam (photos here) and he made me promise not to tell anyone ahead of time that he'd be at the meetup for fear that a bazillion more people would show up.
Please tell Adam to get over himself. But for all of the breathless Metatalk posts about him I would have no idea who he is.

Taff it is the middle of the night or early morning in the US. I think as more people wake up and read the question, well, the OP is going to be beaten like a rented mule.

Too much tragedy for one thread
CynicalKnight Lots of people keep and use guns with extreme respect, but in a country where portable cannons are as patriotic and commonplace as mom and apple pie when a nutcase comes unhinged chances are that's what they'll reach for.
Portable cannons are not commonplace in the US. Here is a touching story about a woman, her father and his cannon.... [more]

I'm really not trying to be glib
It is not the owner (or administrator) of the site that needs to worry about litigation but rather the poster of a comment.
Read about how the owner of a website in the US is generally immune from civil actions for defamation arising out of a posters comment but that the poster enjoys no such immunity here.
