MeTa post: why are racist questions allowed on netatalk
I find it really hard to believe that a person living in the United States would be unfamiliar with the stereotype about blacks and dogs.

I hadn't. The first I knew of it was when I was living in a mixed neighborhood with my dog. And even then I didn't know it was a general stereotype until now, I had thought maybe it was something about that city in particular.

MeTa post: Don't Mess With "Don't Mess With Texas"
My commonwealth (KY) has "Unbridled Spirit" on its plates now. It makes me think of two things: 1.) unbridled bullshit and 2.) bareback sex.

Look, we've been in therapy for years over that whole "united we stand, divided we fall" crap. It's just going to take a while to construct a new vision of ourselves as independent and strong and whole and we're taking baby steps and trying to forget about that whole... [more]

KokoRyu: here.

I had to go looking for it after you said that.

It's all yours, item. I'm way busy and shouldn't be sitting here at all, and I figured KokoRyu might have some intention of posting it.

MeTa post: Cut short in its prime.
I glanced briefly at the screen and where it said "3 comments total", I somehow saw "3 arguments total" and thought someone had made some special changes just for MeTa. How disappointing.

I'm dizzy on allergy meds, though.

MeTa post: Shall we put a mint on your pillow too?
Y'know if you look at his past questions on AskMe, stuff doesn't really add up.

Dear AskMetafilter: should I feel really bad about pointing this out?

MeTa post: "Let's Bring Back Slavery!"
most pointless metatalk post ever.

You don't read MetaTalk often, do you?

MeTa post: Get paid to surf the web!?
Hm. My last job: I got the hang of everything, then made some helpful changes to my databases and reporting and ended up with a job that usually took about 10-15 hours a week. Sometimes there would be other work and it might go to 20 or even 25. Then the company offshored (we'd known this was coming) and I was laid off.

I almost never posted from work, but read almost everything I could without following the links.

Now, of course, I'm unemployed,... [more]

MeTa post: AskMe should be a ‘the commenter didn’t read the...
A flag is a flag, I think that jessamyn is smart enough to be able to tell when a commenter neglected to read.

Yeah, but there'd be a tiny bit of emotional satisfaction found in the use of a "commenter can't read" flag. I've often thought of coming to MeTa to request a flag like that. Venom isn't allowed on AskMe, so it's got to go somewhere, and I fear one day there'll be a snark explosion in my house set off by someone answering a question... [more]

MeTa post: Perhaps I'm a sentimental fool, but I found this...
I propose that we extend the use of NSFW to posts that might make me people sniffle.

Came back to see if there had been any progress on this and only now do I see the last qualifier, "apart from summer camp". Damn, that's embarrassing. I swear I could read when I got up this morning.
