Help me identify this garden snail, please? Most of the info I've found on garden snails is centered on the Pacific Northwest & California. I'm in Philly, and am unsure as to what varieties of snails are common on the east coast.

I've learned that a new friend/co-worker is several years sober. She's a confident, no-nonsense kind of chick, and she is not uncomfortable with drinkers or in the presence of alcohol. That said, I'm still looking for do's and don'ts (that go beyond common sense of um, not offering her a beer, and not calling attention to her non-alcoholic thirst-quencher of choice or protectively fawning over her.)

I will be at the Anaheim Convention Center for a week. I do not hear good things about the culinary possibilities within walking distance. Unlike

Received the shiny iMac G5 yesterday, along with 512 mb RAM from Crucial. Can't get the memory to fit in the slot. Replaced back panel for the meantime but couldn't get it flush again. Newbie nerves, indeed. Help!

My google-fu is failing me on this. I'm getting a new computer and my dad wants my old beast of a Dell. I don't need to clean my hard drive to DOD-specs, but it does seem reasonable to do more than just delete my files. It's not busted, the Windows 98 is pretty beat up, but it's still usable. What's the sane minimum of clean-up before it leaves my house?

Apologies for what is undoubtedly a topic that has been covered before, but I can't seem to find a relevant thread.
Making the PC to Apple switch. Right now I have a Dell PC from '98, which is creaky and slowly failing and therefore gets only minimal usage.
I'm having trouble figuring out how much computer I need. I'm not looking for a minimalist machine -- part of the reason that I'm willing to take the plunge is so that I can expand my home usage pretty significantly.
