The Dealers is a new Israeli crime comedy, released here this weekend.
The poster features the film's central players sitting around a table loaded with booze, weed, bongs, joints and other drug paraphernalia. For the stricter populace of Jerusalem, a
modified version of the poster was prepared, one which removes all trace of...
You guessed it: Women.
The pot and booze? Untouched.

When the commentariat attacks!: 14 entertaining cases of collective Internet satire. As evidenced in the recent
Star Wars Uncut project (
previously), crowdsourced satire can produce hilarity of mind-boggling magnitude, far beyond what any one mind could muster.
The AV Club has collected a few remarkable and side-splitting examples.

Iraqi shoe-thrower sentenced to three years in jail. Can an internet campaign for his release be far behind?

Kutiman, the masterful Israeli funk musician and producer, outdoes himself by creating
Thru-You: Multiple YouTube clips (mostly instructional and performance videos) edited into slick mega-mashups. They're not just patchwork assemblages, they're sample-based original creations that coud hold their own on anyone's album... Plus they're 100% audiovisual! It's a work of next-level genius.
(
sorry for the hyperbole, but my mind has just been blown)
More Kutiman
here. Music video
here. And for you Pitchfork aficionados,
here.

And you thought Pepsi's redesign was just crappy. Well no. According to this ridiculous
internal document (6MB, PDF), apparently leaked from their ad agency, the sugar-water's rebranding was 5,000 years in the making, and molded by the same elemental forces that shape the very cosmos.
Warning: Hilariously meaningless corporate drivel inside.

Jeopardy history. This early hint came to pass last night; For the first time after 23 years, all 3 contestants in an episode of Jeopardy came to an exact tie.

Dirty goings-on in the magic kingdom. (QuickTime) Amateur movies shot by Disney's professional furries
in Disneyworld show what happens on the grounds while Mickey isn't looking.
"...Many of the videos, I found out, were created for unofficial annual character banquets, where screening funny skits is part of a tradition of subtle acts of subversion among the members of Disney’s undercompensated and overregulated workforce."
Probably sorta safe for work, but don't show it to Pooh aficionados.

Did Frank Zappa invent the iTunes music store? from zappa.com:
"Every major record company has vaults full of (and perpetual rights to) great recording by major artists in many categories which might still provide enjoyment to music consumers if they were made available in the right way. MUSIC CONSUMERS LIKE TO CONSUME MUSIC . . . NOT PIECES OF VINYL WRAPPED IN PIECES OF CARDBOARD."

there have been
grass roots campaigns. there have been
various petitions. some even tried
reverse psychology to try and convince fox to renew arrested development for a third season. now, 15 episodes into the shortened 18-episode season, fox got around to starting
its own "save a.d." website. is it too little too late?
