The Plan
Pretty much all simultaneously - we overlaid some of the gang vocals when more people came over and I laid the jawharp track over the fiddle. (Can't play jawhard and fiddle at the same time.... yet....)

This is freaking epic. Your mandolin playing sounds perfect for this. I think if it rolled any faster you'd start to approach the "ska" sound... but that may just be because I think I have the ska thing stuck in my head.
I'm pretty sure if we did this we'd play it as a Texas waltz - I'm typically super against "bluegrassification" novelties (ever since I heard the Rusty Thimbles cover "Closer"). Nevertheless, this was really classy -... [more]

Yeah - Catfish played in an electric blues kind of outfit before starting Who Hit John. It was actually called the Younger Dryas which is pretty much the coolest band name ever. So he's really good when he puts the slide to the resonator.

Further Than a Stone
Hey yeah micayetoca. I'll ask hammy for the actual lyrics. I can only approximate. :D
I'm the fiddle player so I usually don't pay too close attention to what they're singing - but I'm pretty sure it's -
When I'm in a circle
spinnin round
don't know my ankles from my feet on the ground
and all of my days

Yeah Ynoxas - that's kinda funny because at bars we usually end with everyone shouting "fuckin cold!" but we wanted to keep the album pg-13. you know. for the parishioners. :D I didn't know what to say, and everyone in the band was silently mouthing "FUCKING!" at me so I kinda laughed.

SWEET! I can't believe I missed this when you first put it up. This is fantastic. Your mournful banjo-sweetness reminds me of a friend of mine - Andru Bemis - you might like his stuff.
Seriously, please keep posting songs - this is beautiful stuff.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. I love the super upbeat autoharp. Definitely an instrument that doesn't receive the love it deserves.
