Last week I read the
graduation speech Patton Oswalt gave to the kids at his former high school, and it's been marinating, but I'd like to make sure I'm understanding his advice in the very best way possible.

In the
new Edge question Karl Sabbagh talks about how he used to think there were experts and non-experts, and an experts judgment was superior to his own... but he has since changed his mind.

How should I be reading the NYTimes? I subscribed last month and I love it, but I only end up reading about five to ten percent of the paper every week.

I'm in my early 20's and I've wanted a motorcycle (the street bike kind) for a very long time. Now that I can afford one i'm being pressured every which way not to get one because of how"dangerous" they are. My question is just how dangerous are they?

What are the best websites to view on a mobile phone? I have a Samsung A900 and it has a pretty large viewing area, what websites would be best that are specifically formatted for cell phones? I am interested in any website that you can think of but specifically good news sites. Also any website that is leading the pack in UI for cell phones would be great. Also if you know any sites that aren't formatted for cell phones but still function well i'm interested.

What copyright laws and other legal aspects do I have to look into before I can hang up famous artwork in public places. I don't have any specific pieces of art yet but I intend on hanging up a very broad selection of paintings (only paintings). Do I have to contact the museums that own them? Will there be a fee?

I've often wondered if the quote from the movie Good Will Hunting: "You wasted 150 grand on an education you coulda got for a buck fifty in late charges at the public library" is feasible.

I get so many boogers that the boogie man is jealous of me. How do I get rid of boogers, it's embarassing because I have to pick my nose at least twice a day in fear that some hot chick is going to see a booger in my nose. This isn't only during the winter, I get boogers year round.

I got a ticket this morning on my car in Boston on Newbury Street. Do I have to keep paying the meter all day or does the ticket allow me to just keep my car there for as long as I need to? It's 25 bucks for another ticket, and its 25 cents for 15 minutes on the meter. Im out of quarters, im lazy, and I want to go back to bed.

I would like to turn my computer into a fireplace. Note: not by burning my pc. I want my monitor to display the burning logs and I want to hear the fire roaring and crackling. I would prefer it not to be a screensaver but if thats what you got then i'll take it and be happy.

The click wheel on my ipod is broken. The buttons have slipped off their positions so I have to click on the plastic outside of the wheel VERY hard to get it to function. Not only do I have to guess where the button has drifted, it has gotten much worse over time and I can no longer press the menu button.

After reading
Aceys question today in which she was asking for advice for an 18 year old, Skylar answered: "I wish that I had better understood the nature of attraction and seduction, things I am only getting to know now as I get older. When I was younger I waited for people to approach me because I didn't have the courage to do it for myself. Now I realise how a few simple rules of psychology apply in many potential romantic encounters and I have gained a lot more confidence in those situations."

I have Nextel and my cell phone reception is absolutely terrible at my house. What would be my best bet for improving my reception? I would rather not switch phone services because I would have to buy out my contract. I live in Mass. my area code is 781 and my zip is 01773 just in case that helps.

I just found out I dont have work tomorrow, and i'd like to go out and try skydiving. I live in Boston, and the weather is supposed to be nice tomorrow. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should look, or anything I should know. Do you think its even possible to call in the morning and have a chance to jump the same day? Any tips are greatly appreciated.

My TV broke, and I am bored now. It is a Sony Videoscope XBR, 50 something inches, projection TV. I bought it maybe 4-5 years ago from circuit city. When I turn it on the sound works fine, but the picture starts getting crackly then it gets wavy and starts to disapear culminating in the whole picture collapsing into itself.

Where am I physically going to be in 2 million years. Say I am hypothetically buried in a suburb of Boston, MA tomorrow....where am I physically going to end up? Dissolved into the ocean? A couple hundred feet down in dirt? Some of my ashes might be part of the construction of another animal? Where will I be in 10 million years too. Guesses and educated guesses welcome.

Richard Feynman described thinking as basically just talking to yourself. Then a friend told him to picture a part of a car and then asked him how he explained to himself what the part looked like. He then realized that you can see when you think as well. Then later on he tried counting up to 60 and seeing how accurate his perception of time was. He usually counted to around 48 by the time 60 seconds had gone by. Then he figured that he could count pretty much all of the time and not get distracted, but he couldn't talk and count at the same time. (+)

I am in the middle of a year off from college and im still not sure if I want to go back. I know that "college is important" but I don't see myself working 9-5 in an office for the rest of my life. I often day dream about going to the carribean or costa rica and living there for a couple of years. (+)
