SQL Server Find and Replace Script
But the string may be embedded within the data field. If my original string is 'John' and my replacement is 'Bob', what happens when script encounters 'The boy's name is John'?
Assuming it recognizes the substring 'John', won't it replace the whole thing with 'Bob'?

Oops. The version I posted was the original that they sent me. The one I ran DOES have values for @otxt and @ntxt. I've updated the one online. http://number9media.com/scripts/FindAndReplace-qlinks.sql

After much pulling of hair and gnashing of teeth, I've discovered that changing the http headers from
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> to

makes everything hunky dory. But I'm not sure why, or what ramifications making the change would have. What's wrong with iso-8859-1, dammit?

To draw whose attention? This one guy, who you admit probably realized his error immediately? If you want to spread awareness, do what puke & cry says: call the newspaper. But writing to this guy seems pointless.

Are they grabbing the scroll bar and dragging, or just using a mouse wheel?
Does it happen when they first visit a page, or only after they've clicked around?

Don't fall into the trap where you put an "ah" in everything. It's not "Bah-stin", it's "Baw-stin". The former is actually more of a Chicago/midwestern accent.
As others have said, there are plenty of sub-regional accents and, as yerfatma says, it also differs by age. My mother has a decidedly different accent than I do. (She swims in a POOell and teaches at a SKOOell. She takes a "bahth".)

I raised a couple from seeds a couple of years ago. I found it very fulfilling, but they are extremely delicate in their first year or two. They need daily attention. When they were about 18 months of age, I went away for the weekend and the person in charge of watering them forgot to do so. When I came back, they were both dead. I'm still a little heartbroken.
I suppose if I were to start again, I wouldn't start from seed--but instead would go with a young tree. I... [more]

You work for a newspaper and don't understand why a candidate for president can't call the incumbent a liar? Because people would find it offensive and not vote for him. The real question is why newspapers, who are supposed to be searching for truth, don't do it.

I don't think there's really an effective "inorganic" method to skew Google results, unless you want to devote loads of resources to outsmarting the search engine. And if you're selling shoes, as opposed to selling the google-skewing techniques to spam merchants, you can't really afford to do it.
Note: I don't have a lot of specific research to back that statement up, but that's the gut feeling I get from the reading I've done.

It's a little amateurish, but in college I once bought two copies of the same magazine and covered an entire wall with it in sequential order (front cover, page one, page two...back cover), so you could read the whole thing while standing at the wall. This isn't quite right for your situation, but maybe it will spark an idea.

I should make it clear that my SO was the one to say NO to the "occasional infidelity" suggestion, and that's why I was disappointed (though not surprised) that he did a secret 180 on the idea.

I don't know what you would use besides JS + HTML to do the exploding tree in a browser. Java applet, I guess.
You don't need JS, you can do it all in php. But you'll have to reload the page whenever you expand a branch. I find that kinda ugly, but then so's javascript.

Not sure if you're referring to me. I only meant that we shouldn't pile on the woman's psychological problems (as I and others had started to do). What she did was definitely wrong and she should be called out on it. But she *has* been called out.
