I was just going to suggest one on the east side - I think LA should have separate meetups for the west and east side. Going west from Highland Park, I may as well be flying to Portland...

I love the Lodge (site of my junior prom!) I'm really hoping the 21st will indeed be the first time I've ever followed through on a meetup - I'm lame, I know, but the thought of that afternoon drive to the west side...

Yeah, I'd just call and give them a rough head count. Chances are the reservation won't be necessary, but it's a good idea, just in case.

It is pretty tiny. I was just there at 8:00 tonight (Wednesday) and it was packed. And smokey.
And the facade appears to be shackled in scaffolding for what I presume is a facelift.
Still, we could meet there and decide on another place if it's too cramped.
There are loads of other bars/pubs in that area as well.

Half the time I feel stupid for liking a post because of all the snarky-ass comments that go with it. It's like criticism for criticism's sake, and it's highly depressing. The other half of the time I feel as though I genuinely have something to contribute, but I'm already discouraged by what I can only imagine would be the responses to my posts. So I just relegate them to my own sad little site that no one reads, where I can continue enjoying them in peace.
