It is pretty clearly implied that sex is the issue. She's not worried about her period starting during the visit because they will be holding hands in the park. And if you wish to give anonymous credit for being smart, you can't say that implication is by accident. Therefore "this might not be as big a deal as you think" is a valid answer to the question. Ok, it seems the scope of our comments are different, occhiblu, mine being more narrowly focused. I can see and appreciate your point about how such behavior is annoying in general.
