Blame, bane or the way of the future? Micropayment stock photography
I've used the Flickr CC search before to find photos I can use for derivitive works. I design t-shirts, so an expensive photo is useless to me, I need a piece of a photo, not the whole thing. I actually think this is a great idea if you're a shutterbug with several thousand photos on your hard drive.

Super Mario Galaxy
God I hope Grand Theft Auto ends up on Wii. Can you imagine using that controller to beat a hooker with a pipe?

The limits of free speech
This is outrageous. How did this become a law? I'd really like to know who in congress were responsible for this, does anyone know the history on this? Was it part of another bill? I can't believe our President apologized to a guy from a country that harvests the organs of dead prisoners and allows forced abortions on unwilling women. Life is sacred?

REFUND!
I really think the most shameful thing tonight was the 'journalism' put on display on CNN. Not that anyone takes Larry King seriously, but look at how the traditional media handled this compared to the outstanding work done by The Smoking Gun.
No one else bothered to look into this for nearly 3 years, then TGS does look into it, even gives the guy 3 chances to defend himself or come clean and he just threatens to sue. Then cut to tonight and CNN gives him an hour to... [more]

A million little peices of BS.
Here's a hilarious review of the book from two years ago (via Fark). Damn fine journalism from TSG, that was a great read, likely better than the book.

IE goes boom!
A few weeks ago I was on SomethingAwful and found this in the Weekend Web section. Fantasy becomes reality I guess. I use Firefox, but this is just plain stupid.

Laid down on my bed and cried
I am very sad about this. When I was about six years old R.L. Burnside came and stayed at my house. My dad knew his harmonica player. It was really neat, my dad being all excited that this blues man was going to stay with us. My parents were taking my baby sister for a stroll when R.L. and John showed up and I answered the door by myself. I don't remember much else about his stay, but I do remember a week later my dad taking me to an apartment on Waco street in Wichita and watching him play... [more]

strange reaction
Alright damnit, my friend John has been doing this EVERY DAY since January 1st of this year. He posts out of print 45s, and I told him at the time it's the most original thing I've seen in a long time, blah blah blah. I even sent the link to Stereogum. Anyway, for those that are digging this please throw some love over to Little Hits. John deserves the credit for being at least the most consistent at this type of thing, if not also the first.
