Is Obama/Palin (or for that matter McCain/Biden) possible?

Does/can running Kazaa zombie-fy (partly) a PC?

I have this idea that running Kazaa potentially lets other users store files on your PC. Is this correct?

I apologize in advance for the utter suckiness of the interface - I uploaded most of these shots to Flickr on Tuesday, and they're still not viewable there. So I have managed to scrape together this patchwork system. HTML artiste, I am not.

On the AskMe preview page, the following text...

On the AskMe preview page, the following text appears: "If everything seems right, hit the post button below. If not, hit your browser's back button and tweak the form again." How about: "...If not, edit below and hit the preview button again to confirm your changes before posting." or some such wording referencing the ability to edit ON the preview page?
This isn't really a bug, but it seemed the closest category

Why not call it adamantium?

Harder than diamond. Compress C60 with heat, and get the hardest substance known. But will it be pretty?

CSI in training

Want to learn to be a CSI? It's the U.S. government's multimedia website to train police and evidence recovery personnel. You can try the tests - the advanced one will tell you if you convicted the accused or not. Pretty slick for Uncle Sam.

How did half an electric outlet die?

Today the top half of a regular wall outlet stopped working. No pulling or pushing of plugs was involved, and the bottom half still delivers electricity without problems (AFAIK). As the bottom half is still powered, it doesn't appear to be a switch or fuse issue (None are tripped). How would this happen, and how difficult a repair is this likely to be? Is it likely a problem simply with the outlet itself, or the wiring in the wall?

I've noticed a fair bit of double posts recently on MeFi (not AskMefi nor MeTa).
Here (keswick), here (bugbread) and here (3.2.3.) Is there some newly introduced bug in the posting code?

UK sharp knife ban?

The end of the British slasher film? [Article on NYT which needs account.] Love the phrase (with reference) "Once resistance from clothing and skin is overcome, little extra force is required to injure vital organs, increasing the chance of a fatality (likened to cutting into a ripe melon)."

I've not been here long, but already I want a pony....

I've not been here long, but already I want a pony. It's been addressed tangentially before: sort by recent comments." Add this to AskMefi - by monju_bosatsu and we desperately need a "My AskMe"but my specific desired feature is to have the ability to know if an AskMeFi question of mine (or MetaTalk question) has been commented on further since I last checked/logged on, even if it is on my 'user' page, rather than on the main pages. I couldn't find such a beast, so if it is there, please let me know.

I agree bookmarking the specific threads would get the job done, but what's the point of asking for a new pony if the donor could just say - "You already have a perfectly functioning bicycle" Thanks.

Is my headache likely to get worse?

I just finished reading All in My Head by Paula Kamen. Her chronic headache seems to be worsening over time. I have a headache all day every day, but haven't noticed any long term worsening over the roughly 5 years I've had it. Should I worry?
