I third Natural Body to Spa Sydell. I've been to Key Lime (used to live in the neighborhood) and love the atmosphere and the service but I hate Aveda products which they use exclusively.
I've also heard good things about the spa at the Four Seasons and BlueMedSpa, both in midtown.

Should I start a new career?
I think I may work for the that company. In my case I have brought a similar issue to my manager and the results were favorable. I go through bored phases occasionally but I tell myself that I do this job so I can fund my personal life (vacations, outings, good food, etc) and I probably will never leave because of the health benefits.

Alpha Avenue and Bravo Boulevard
I believe downtown West Palm Beach does this too and the streets are named after trees - Banyan, Clematis, Datura, Evernia, Fern, Gardenia, Hibiscus, Iris. The cross-streets are named Olive, Quadrille, Rosemary, Sapodilla, Tamarind.

Meat and 3s?
When my dad was here in June we definitely had breakfast at the Biscuit and since it was Father's Day, we went to Chops up in Buckhead for dinner. We also went to Shout at Phipps that weekend because I figured with the small plates/big variety, he'd find something he likes. Neither of those are particularly daring but the food was good and he's a really picky eater. He also liked the ribs at Fat Matt's.

How can I make my new city feel like home?
I moved to a new city at the beginning of the year and the novelty was starting to really wear off so I made a plan and am now doing it. I'm very shy and introverted but I'm forcing myself to branch out and talk to people because I got tired of sitting at home and catching up on my tivoing all the time. I had a lot of friends where I used to live and really tried to figure out how I met them and became part of the circle, it was so long ago that I realized I was just out of practice. The hardest... Where should we sleep?
I work in midtown and stayed in the Marriott Residence Inn mentioned above (Peachtree St NE and 17th) when I was in the process of relocating. It's clean, pleasant and the front desk staff was super-helpful. I don't know if this applies but they have a grocery shopping service, where you can make a list of groceries in the morning and in the evening, the groceries will be all put away in the kitchenette.
There's another Residence Inn on W. Peachtree and 14th, I got them... [more]

Help me understand a pair of idiosyncratic behaviors I observe at the gym
I don't shower at the gym because I would have to (remember to) lug too much extra stuff: extra towels, shower sandals, shampoo, soap, conditioner, comb, deodorant, makeup (if I'm going somewhere afterwards) etc. I shower as soon as I get home but my car doesn't seem to smell.
Also, the gym I used to go to was in Boca, Fla and the locker room was like the parade of bad plastic surgery. Yuck.

I do the continuous pill thing and my health insurance company has my doctor write the prescription for a 3 month supply (4 packs) that says something to the extent of "dispense 4 packs, take pills continuously for 90 days, skip placebo". For this I pay 3 copays, one for each of the months.
It also works that way if one's doctor prescribes Seasonale - one would pay 3 months of copays for a 90 day supply.

I lived in Boca for 10 years through the beginning of this year and it's definitely nice but expensive (which is the reason why I got out of S. Fla). It's 45-50 minutes north (with mildly moderate traffic) of Miami Shores.

I also kept my married name primarily for professional reasons and also because I prefer it to my maiden name. When the divorce was almost final, I asked my husband if he would mind if I kept it (he was still a little angry because I was the one who left him) and he told me he was honored that I wanted to.
I didn't realize it was weird to keep it.

Challenge a speeding ticket?
I once was pulled over for running a stop sign (I had actually stopped to let another car go by). When I explained that to the officer he said, with a very smug look, "your word against mine, see you in court".
I hired an attorney and got it dismissed. The funny thing is that the "court fees" were equal to the ticket amount. But at least my insurance didn't go up and I didn't have to acutally go to the court hearing.

I took xanax and while it helped my panic attacks, I didn't like the fact that I felt totally hung over the next day (headache, lethargy, dead heart).
So when I'd have a panic attack I got to the point where I'd weigh how much I needed immediate relief vs. how much I want to feel crappy the next day. I ended up learning meditation to get over them.
