Pregnant Man Gives Birth. That's a fact.
If you look at this from a biological perspective it's just "BEARDED WOMAN HAS BABY."
I'm pro-surgery and I'll call you by whatever pronoun you'd like, but truthfully, that's the only way I see it.

I don't need to build credit--not because I can borrow money from my parents, but because fuck you, system. I think the problem might be few people are willing to humor the idea that they could move somewhere cheaper.

I guess they're cat people, after all.
Actually, yeah. But you guys are all smart and know that major news sources love to exaggerate Muslim outrage, right?

Moniker La Winski
Reminds me of the old Disney movie where two parents in Germany were listening to the list of approved baby names.
"Let's see, Charles, William, Adolph, das es good one, no?"
"Actually, we were thinking about Alfred..."
"ES IST VERBOTEN!"

If your situation is complicated, please explain (optional)
This made me chuckle. I wrote, "isn't it always complicated to be Jewish?"

Second Most Popular (Unwatched) Sport.
Badminton is far more accessible than tennis.
Not really. I can't think of many other sports that must be played indoors. Here in San Diego the only places to play besides colleges are usually only open once or twice a week, and subject to early closure for other events.
The scoring system has been greatly simplified in recent years. You used to only score points on your serve; now a point is scored every time, essentially halving... [more]

Good riddance. They have the words "starbucks coffee" in their logo, but it should really be "starbucks dessert drinks." Their actual coffee is about as good as Denny's.

I'M AWSOME
I wonder if the FRUNK tattoo is just the Chinese equivalent of the mangled hanzi/kanji tattoos that we see so often. I imagine that the Roman alphabet seems minimalist and futuristic to people who use logomorphic writing.

Naked hive rats!
but the idea of one male impregnating all the females and letting his sterilised slaves raise the children must have come to some bad ass dude at least once in human history.
I'm pretty sure that's how the Pharaohs rolled--but it's not as effective as true eusociality, because the eunuchs are only driven by their desire to stay alive, or the fear of torture. Since they're not related to the kids they're caring for, they... [more]

Guantanamo Release
It's worth noting that Omar Khadr is on trial for the war crime of being a child soldier.
What the fucking fuck? I'd say the use of child soldiers is a war crime, but being a child soldier? Are they going to declare him a war criminal for being tortured, too?
I think the big, big question nobody asks about American's torture policy is why. Do the Bush... [more]

AP Diary
The AP test is a sham. Paying for the test gives you a one-letter grade boost, regardless of test scores. Plenty of drug-addled rich kids just sleep through the essay portion of AP exams.
Since the free housing involves a random roommate, I opt instead for a single room at the Seelbach Hilton ($50 a night with the AP discount).
It depresses me that he'd rather spend $350 dollars than get to know somebody new.

UK Government data mash-up competition
What is your idea's name?
Two-way television
A short description of your idea (in twenty words or less)
TV screens in public places that simultaneously broadcast information while recording movement data; citizens who want free TVs can opt to have one installed in their homes.
Describe your idea. How does it work and who does it help?
Face-recognition software has come a long way, but for the most part it... [more]

I think 375 lbs. is a pretty good descriptor for a bear: I read that and know that there were about two people worth of bear.
Or about 1/2 Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.

C'mon people, the main reason it was described as a 375 lb bear was because he was pulled out of the friggin water! If Adam Warwick had instead beaten the bear in a slam-dunk competition, It probably would have been a 6''7' bear or something.

Music of the spheres
There is no sound in space; this is all very silly.
No foo! There isn't any sound as we could here it, even if our ears were made of space-resistant material, but it does happen. Unless you consider sound to be only the spectrum of matter waves that the human ear can hear, but then you have to consider other animals, too.
That earth-sound thing is really cool. I wonder if our CFC emissions have altered the sound? And if... [more]

Faceless People
Maybe Splash News decided it wasn't newsworthy. Which would be bad tidings for this post.
So how exactly are they "faceless?" A latex mask making it look like they have no eyes, nose or mouth? While that would be pretty cool, I can't imagine that they would be very good at walking around by themselves.
