I started dating someone pretty seriously at the beginning of the summer. Due to his former wife's emotional instability, his three children (a 16-year-old daughter and 12-year-old twin sons) are living with us in my small two-bedroom apartment. I always wanted to have kids, but this is rather sudden! I'm lost and stumbling. Please offer any advice you think relevant.

My cousin, a 30-something mother of two, is having surgery in four weeks to remove a brain tumor. Prognosis, unknown. The only thing she has asked for is some music appropriate for pre-surgery, post-surgery and/or physical therapy. Most of my ideas are pretty morbid. Suggestions? Any genre will do ...

I work in a public computer lab at the library. We're thinking it might be nice to have an easily-identifiable uniform so the computer users don't have to go around asking people if they work here. We're thinking shirts only, but we don't really want boring polo-style shirts. (And if you have ideas that include bottoms, bring 'em on.)

MedicalFSAFilter. Again. Have $2000 to spend in 6 weeks, had hoped to spend it on ugly teeth. Have pits in enamel on front teeth due to high fever (or maybe the medicine that brought that fever down) I had as a child. Said pits are ugly and brown, and I worry are just cavities waiting to happen. Dentist has mentioned veneers, but they aren't eligible for reimbursement. Any way to treat them that is reimbursable?

Social security numbers on job applications. I have a library user who is applying for hourly-level jobs at places that only accept online applications. A surprising number of the application sites ask for a social security number, and are set up so that unless you put nine digits in the SSN field you can't proceed to the rest of the application.
