What are the awesome things at this awesome location?
Throwing one out there for Prague (north side of Queen, just west of Bathurst -- next to rotate this! I think). Reasonably priced. Ask for a side of sauerkraut.
Ideal Coffee -- go to the Ossington location (west side of the street south of Dundas), and make sure to go next door to Bar a Soupe for, you guessed it, soup.
Thursday and Friday nights and Saturday afternoons/early evening are good times to check out art openings -- West Queen West and... [more]

How can I simulate this tikka masala sauce?
Patak's makes curry pastes -- I don't know if you can get it in the states. But they (along with Sharwood curries) are readily available in Canada, and can generally be found for a decent price.
Sorry I can't help out with recipes.

This will end, right?
This happens to me when I take cold medication (especially Contac C) which is why I generally don't take it anymore. It usually takes about 8 hours or so before my system starts returning to normal.
I can't offer any advice about making yourself feel better (unless you have an ativan you can take) other than going home if you aren't there already and lying prone until the dizziness passes (I've had a couple loss of balance and fainting moments after taking cold... [more]

You can also call your doctor or local health network and ask if you can take some gravol. It may help with the nausea and might make you drowsy enough to sleep the rest of this off.

Cheque dated tomorrow, can I cash it tonight?
A cheque deposited in a TD ATM won't be 'processed' until the next business day (March 3rd). The funds will be in your account, but the actual deposit won't appear on your list of account activity until Monday. I'm assuming you have an account with TD like mine, and the cheque won't be held for any amount of time.
Deposit the cheque now. It's fine.

The Visine, it does nothing!
Cup your hands over your eyes shutting out all light. Relax your eyes with the lids open (as though you've let your eyes lose focus). Like jdruk, I was taught this by my opthamologist.
Also, all of the above -- drink lots of fluids, humidifier, rest when able, teabags.

How do I get a homeless person(s) to stop peeing in my front doorway?
This was happening in the doorway of the business where I work. Four or five mornings a week, the person who opened would have to clean piss out of the entrance way. So two and a half weeks ago we put up a big sign which reads:
PLEASE DO NOT URINATE HERE. THIS IS NOT A BATHROOM. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Surprisingly, this has taken care of our problem. We haven't had a pee incident since the sign went up (touch wood).

Premature menopause/oophorectomy
I had an oopherectomy 4 years ago when I was 23, for ovarian cancer.
I have lots of experiences to relate, but it will take more time than I have now, running out the door. Later tonight, when I can give this answer some time, I'll get back to you.

Burnt Offerings
This has happened to me in the past, and I've simply filled the pot three-quarters full of water and added anywhere from 250 ml to 500 ml baking soda. Then I sit the pot on the stove, bring the water up to a simmer, and let the baking soda do it's wonders. You will probably have to top the water off as it evaporates, but the carbon should eventually flake off. You might want to scrub the pot a couple times and refill it with fresh baking soda and water, but it will eventually come clean and... [more]

I don't know about "death from shock" after being exposed to light, but horses were used in mining, and some sources claim they were kept mainly underground, while others oppose this claim. Here is one good source on pit ponies and their behaviour above/below ground.

It'll probably be hit-and-miss figuring out what foods are palatable, and unfortunately what worked for me might not work for your friend. The following list from chemocare.com has good suggestions, especially brushing your teeth before and after every meal and eating with plastic utensils to minimise metallic tastes. Wool ewe help me find some good places to buy yarn?
My favourite store is Lettuce Knit in Kensington Market (on Nassau, just west of Augusta beside Ideal Coffee and across from Ronnie's). Romni definitely has the larger selection , but Lettuce Knit gets in really beautiful wools (including some locally spun and dyed) and is much smaller and easier to navigate (so if you're like me and get overwhelmed by narrow aisles, it's a good place to shop).

My first suggestion for family/teen sites are Dana-Farber's Family Connections. They have age appropriate information and support for children and teens. If you contact them directly, they should also be able to point you to local resources. As far as bereavement services and support goes, the kids are likely to benefit more from real-life support groups where they can talk and connect with others in similiar situations. Online cancer support groups are often filled with wingnuts (though ACOR... [more]

How is the holder anchored in the wall though? Do you just cut out the piece of drywall with the holder, or is there something more keeping it in place?
The plan is to remove the current recessed ceramic holder, patch the drywall, and replace it with a non-recessed wall-mounted holder.

There isn't a lot of information about women in your particular situation. The Women's Health Initiative only looked at naturally menopausal women, not surgically menopausal women. It is not believed that ERT raises the risk of breast cancer for those of us who have experienced surgical menopause.

How to find a new home for two cute kitties.
Yes it would be terrible to separate the two. They are socialized to one another and cats do best when they have a companion, which these two have always had. You need to find them a home together.

Also, try using Petfinder to find them a home or a foster home. You may want to think about charging an adoption fee to ensure that the person who takes the cats is serious about them -- I think Petfinder has something written about this. I know several people who have found cats and dogs off Petfinder, and they have all been very happy with the process.

how much does an escort make?
I know of one Toronto agency which charged clients $300-375 an hour, of which the escorts received $125-150 an hour. However, at one point (I don't know if this is still the case) the operators of the agency were working with an escort-procurer (read: pimp) who was bringing girls in from Montreal and taking their cut. He, in turn, put the girls up in an apartment, bought their clothes, and provided them with a small allowance. I don't know how typical these rates and cuts are for Toronto -- I'm... [more]

Why do I feel that I've gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now?
Gynecological issues such as ovarian cysts can cause you to urinate more frequently because of pressure on the bladder. If your urgency to pee can't be explained by yeast infection or UTI, you may want to request a transvaginal ultrasound to check out the possibility of ovarian cysts -- they are fairly common.
Also, increased frequency of urination without pain can be a sign of ovarian cancer (which I learned after I was diagnosed) and should be... [more]

I haven't had this surgery, but I know several who have. Mold or mildew in your house could cause this -- I had this same problem for a couple months until I moved my bed and discovered the floor and my mattress were completely mildew-covered. A few years later a roommate of mine went through the same thing (same apartment, different room). You may want to move your furniture around and check for this (though if it's inside your walls, it may be harder to find).
