Drinks at Trader Vic's Dallas?
Ahh, TV's closes at 10 p.m. on Sundays. We're only there for one night due to work schedules, unfortunately.
Eideteker — The BMW is a 2004 R1150RT. It's his bike (it's too big for my tastes, but we bought it for road-trippin', and thus we ride 2-up). My bike is a 1973 Bonneville that needs a lot of work. In town, I also ride a 1978 Vespa P125x and he rides a 1963 Vespa P125.... [more]

We had a '94 CB400 when we lived in Korea! Until C got hit by a driver running a red light. He was mostly okay but the cycle didn't survive :(
Older Hondas are *awesome.* The Bonnie is cosmetically immaculate but is not tuned up enough for long-distance rides. I wish I had pictures to share.
This post is quickly turning into a brag-about-your-bike fest, but that's okay with me.

If anyone is still reading this we'll be there at about 9 pm Sunday night. I'll have on a green sleeveless 60s dress.

Fake Thanksgiving Atlanta meetup
Okay, I don't anticipate being anywhere near Atlanta anytime soon, but I just wanted to say that note waaay at the top there is really cool and we should have more of them. Indeed, I am easily amused.

I have this issue as well but I always access MeFi from the same computer and to my knowledge the cookies have not been recently cleared.

DAMMIT.
I'm 6,000 miles away right now.
(But I suggest Rock N' Bowl.)

Rock 'N Bowl happens every weekend at 66 Bowl on Rt. 66 just west of the fairgrounds.
But even if you don't plan the meet-up for a Saturday Night, 66 Bowl is great place to meet friends and hang out. They have a full bar.

big ups.
I have always wanted to thank Suedehead for this advice and the map that goes along with it regarding things to do on New Years in Seoul. Alas, Suedehead does not have an email address in profile, so I'll say it now:
Big Gulps to Suedehead!

Only when I run on the treadmill. It makes the time go by faster. I also listen to NPR podcasts.

"American" can mean South American, Canadian, Mexican, whatever. Also, "USian" is shorter and quicker to type.

Another example of wrong and bad ask me answers.
Whaddyoutalkinabout? There are several people who answered by saying they were raised by smokers and have experiences similar to the OP's:

I had this
If your dad smoked around you a lot, indoors especially, maybe you did get enough of a nicotine fix to get somewhat addicted.
This happened to me too
There are plenty more.... [more]

I had a dream...
I often have dream about MeFi. The last one was last night and I was at the Portland meet-up. Jessamyn was making sure people who've had too much to drink took cabs home. I waited in line outside for the cab and some other user (dunno who) was wearing the same outfit as Jessamyn. The other girl was trashed, and Jessamyn was making snarky comments about how she looked better in the outfit than the drunk girl.
I have no idea what corner of my subconscious spawned that... [more]

Hey, what have you got to lose?
Cool, I joined. I've always been a little weird about those communities because many people are trying to lose large amounts of weight and I just want to lose about 10 pounds.

Because they're books about teenage girls going through things that most teenage girls don't talk to each other about (and that mother's don't talk to their girls about). They make you feel like you aren't a freak of nature.
