The Centennial Project Happy birthday Oklahoma! In honor of my homeland's 100th birthday later this year, I am posting two serialized first-person accounts of my family's journey into what would become the nation's 46th state, including my great-great-grandfather's efforts to make the 1891 Land Run and another relative's meticulous biographical history which extends as far back as the Civil War.

Both accounts were written mid-century and, to the best of my knowledge, have never been reproduced digitally. These personal accounts are combined with my own stories of growing up in Oklahoma as well as family pictures spanning 100 years of history in the state. Please join me for this experiment in ancestral discovery.
