MeFi post: Armless Guitarist
I lived in San Diego for a while, and he is by far the person with the most character in that entire town (ok, fine, and all mefites in San Diego).

MeFi post: The true tragedy...this is the last episode
Radiohead + Mario. I wonder how long before the RIAA notices. Because this make the intra-tubes slow for everyone else.

MeFi post: corruption at digg?
If Digg is intentionally misleading people it's censorship no question. But if they would just come out already and say that they have legit editors then it's a qausi-newspaper. Is having editors a bad thing?

MeFi post: Google Music Search
I like last.fm. Has been discussed before in the blue.

What does it do? Using a plugin for either itunes, winamp, windows media, etc. it sends mp3 meta tags to a database as you listen to your music. Meanwhile, an algorithm calculates your closest neighbors based on your listening history.

Think musicplasma + amazon + friendster. All you have to do is get over the fact that they are collecting a ton of information about you. In fact, why... [more]

MeFi post: eHub
First of all, it's difficult to even argue (not for mefites) the merits and pitfalls of web 2.0, when the term is defined differently in almost everywhere.

I can't wait until I can arrive at google.com (from any internet connected PC) and load my personal graphical OS in a browser. Someone please explain to me how this is not progress?

MeFi post: iPod Nano
It's funny because big is the new small. Most of the people I know had bulky cell phones 2-3 years ago, only to be replaced by smaller and smaller versions.

Until now. Who doesn't have a cell phone with a keypad and camera? Mine also happens to be a telescoping beach chair.

MeFi post: hack your brain
Any metaphor that suggests that the mind/brain is like a computer makes me sick. 99.9 percent of all cognitive science research assumes the isolationist view that a person’s internal processes are the only way to understand cognition. Metafilter, the other .01 percent. My first post ever and I already feel the hate.
