After I installed a new hard drive on my laptop my DVD burner/player no longer works, but plays and burns CDs just fine.

Partly because of finally seeing The Prestige I've become interested in learning more about the Gilded Age and am looking for recommendations of some good non-fiction books that cover this period in history. (note: this post is spoiler free)

One of my favorite bands is the Japanese rock group The Pillows. I'd love to find other artists/bands with a similar musical style, but haven't had much luck so far. Does anyone familiar with their music have any recommendations? I'm particularly interested in finding American bands that fit, but anywhere from around the globe is great too.
