Civilized discussion?
I, for one, applaud tkchrist's comments. They were completely reasonable. Child prostitution, on the otherhand? Not so reasonable.

My Ask MeFi
I love this. It drastically reduces the signal to noise ratio, tailored to my taste. Thank you!

Metafavouriteness?
I use favorites in AskMe to mark what I consider the best answer. I think of it like voting. On the blue, I favorite things that are hilarious or agree with my own rather odd belief system.
But that's just me.

You get more with a kind word and a gun than a kind word alone.
Hey, I'm really glad everything worked out. I also think that perhaps it had nothing to do with the size of the friend, nor some threat of imminent violence (um, wouldn't the campus official would have called security if he felt threatened?), but rather a sense of shame. Like, he probably knew that he was being a jerk about the situation, but having to be a jerk in front of a witness shamed some sort of common sense into him.

Frenetic in concert in Cambridge, MA
Cool. Is he playing upstairs or downstairs? I also vote for meeting at the Middle East...Miracle of Science can get crowded.

I'll certainly swing by for a beer around 7:30, probably won't last until the show, but who knows. I'm assuming that we're meeting at the Middle East ground level (the one above the downstairs) and not Zuzu? There are a few different rooms in the complex, so we should probably clarify a spot to spare ourselves from: "Um, I'm meeting some friends here, but I don't know what they look like."
Scratch that; I'll just search for the table full of good-looking and... [more]

I had fun, too! Sorry I had to cut out early and miss the show. Looking forward to future meet-ups....

Neat facts about Matt
Dick Vitale is blind in one eye. My dad used this knowledge to sneak up on his blind side and stuff him during a charity basketball game they played in together many years ago.

Boston meetup: Friday, Sept. 7
I'm a maybe...more of a Boston proper girl, but I'll try to make the trip to Waltham. How will I recognize you guys, I mean, besides looking for the table of good-looking, intelligent folks?

Delegation
What is wrong with hosting a meet-up? Seems like a nice, friendly thing to do.
Four Panels, on the other hand, seems like an assface.

I'm just a lonely geek...lonely in blue...
I always thought it was strange that only 5 MeFites live near me, considering that I live in Boston. I just double checked my latitude and longitude, and discovered I had left out a negative sign so it had me placed in Kazakstan.
Dur. Unfortunately, that probably isn't your problem.

Either that, or five other Bostonians made the same mistake.
