I love these but wishes there was a 'one search engine'/repository of all of them. I don't care the format - could be FactoryJoe's on Flickr, could be anything else. Having a bunch of them across multiple domains means lots of hunting.

Thanks for the posts to Addis' subsequent interviews. I still don't agree with what he did, but the Wired interview was illuminating (if you pardon the pun) and he doesn't come off as such an asshat as in that statement. Don't suppose that Pirate cat interview has a transcript though...

Thanks guys over at the NYT! That's the kind of investigative journalism I look for - now if only you had done something about the whole 'investigative journalism' thing when we were oh, I don't know, going into a WAR. Priorities people - priorities! What you investigate is important - especially when you fail to investigate, and turn into a laughing stock/corporate suckup/administration brownnoser/insert epitaph here. What a shame, considering their once gloried history.

thank you dw, spiderwire and all others who have been able to view someone with a little more depth and analysis. It's nice to see some folks in the thread see more dimensions of human nature than pure goodness and evil. There's a whole lot of grey in between two dualistic extremes, and the vitriol displayed about her is rather a sad reflection of the people spewing it than the subject matter it's supposedly about...

I think the snark also arises from the phrasing of the FPP - fizzing with sadness, pretty people, paranoiac screed, the whole 'LOL CRAZY PERSON" tone of it. Granted, her blog entries might be a little out there, but there's a reason why they say, "speak ill not of the dead" - because to do so is crass. Not MeTa worthy, but still, a little iffy. Yeah, the secret show was the talk on the White Stripes bulletin board... apparently someone close to the band leaked a prospective location, and a bunch of us coordinated getting together. I do think that the 'playing on a transit bus in Winnipeg', though, has got to be one of the cooler things that I've read of in a long, long time. srboisvert and others commenting on Tim's - yeah, I'm thinking they're a bit like the Dunkin' Donuts on some level - a familiar brand, not the best coffee in the world (but oh, for those Tim Hortons iced caps... mmm...and Tidbits!). Somewhere I found a great article in the Globe talking about how Canadians have fetishized things like Tims (and I'm guess it's the same with DD and the Eastern US) as symbols even though there's a danger in doing it. I don't think he's an ass per se; I can see why he'd be upset, although honestly, I wonder if his viewpoint is out of touch with the tenor of the times. I think it's a theme in their music - the loss of innocence and whatnot, and I can see why. As long as people find it reasonable to download music, they're going to be fine with people playing music on the air before they're supposed to.
