Ok people. I suggest we meet for dinner in restaurant Blauw on thursday august 7.
It's a new style Indonesian restaurant. I hear good things about it.
Since rijsttafel is part of the Indonesian cuisine that should be interesting for somebody visiting from abroad.
Let's say 19:00.

Change of plan: the idea is to meetup in Utrecht as a meet-in-the-middle because spherical_perceptions comes from Eindhoven.
Amsterdam-Utrecht is 27 minutes by train. Trains go every 15 minutes.
I will make sure visitors from A'dam will be on the right train back to Amsterdam (provided you'll take the same train at the end of the meetup of course).

July 14th is the worst time for plane tickets. A paneuropean meetup will only work at another time than july-august. So I don't think it's worth waiting for july 14 2009.

Quietgal, I'm open to any scenario that generates sufficient traction and that involves beer in some stage.
I'd still holding out for some more SF mefites to show their support for either of the 3 options proposed so far:
- meetup in a bar, drink beer
- hike up&down Telegraph Hill
- go to smartyboots' band
So I'd say wait a little bit longer before deciding on creating a separate parrot meetup.

Ok people, the meetup date is coming up. What would be a good bar to meetup on july 3rd? Obviously I don't know the best locations so I'd welcome a good suggestion. Preferably one with some nice local brews so I can buy you a nice beer.

Yes, I know the cap isn't very distinctive. On the metafilter meetup I was wearing an orange jacket when Holland was playing for the European Voetbal Championship. That did not make me stand out either....
