GameCubes Irrelevant?
Yes. To the point that you could have asked this a few years ago and the answer would have been the same.

Can I edit my Akismet plugin?
Try these instructions but search for 'function akismet_http_post' instead of 'function ksd_http_post' and replace accordingly.
Also, change the proxy data in this line to the one your host uses.
if( false !== ( $fs = @fsockopen('proxy.dcu.ie', 3128, $errno, $errstr, 10) ) ) {

Help me Navigate my Blog
I'm not sure what's the difference between having them inside the header graphic and making the menu look like it's inside the header. The latter is easily achievable through the link theiconoclast31 gave you.
For the first, if the page links will be always be the same, it should be a problem at all to make a CSS image-map (like this) and hard-code the links.

Looking for advice for a luddite sex columnist who wants to start blogging professionally.
1. Don't self-link here. Fastest way to get deleted into oblivion.
2. Get a domain&hosting.
3. Get a nice theme. Either a free or a paid one. Don't use the default one.
4. Write. Write. Write. Write.
5. Network (Make relevant, and not spammy, comments on other blogs, link to related posts in your posts, etc)
6. Keep writing for a couple of years.
7. ???? (Luck)
8. Profit!

What is the next best alternative to Photoshop?
Paint Shop Pro was the best paid alternative ten years ago. AFAIK, it continues to be so. It does CYMK and almost everything Photoshop does, besides, you know, being Photoshop.

Spell check in Messenger?
There's a script for MSN Plus! that does this using aspell.
Just be sure to not install the sponsor program that comes with MSN Plus! (It asks you quite clearly during the installation process).

I'm not sure why people have so many problems with rapidshare's cats. It's not so hard to figure out. There are cats and dogs in the picture. The dogs have 4 legs and the cats are seated.
I uploaded the file here.

Actually, eliminate the 'n' after 'riegue' from my answer. It ends up as:
"Por favor, no riegue estas plantas. Las está matando."
My previous answer works too, but it looks weird because of the different tenses used in both sentences.
That's what I get for copy & pasting.

Por favor, no riegue estas plantas. Las está matando tanto agua.
Change that 'tanto' for 'tanta' and it would be perfect.
Or more concisely:
Por favor, no riegue estas plantas. Tanta agua las mata.

I would use 'Tanta agua las ha matado' for translating 'All this water has killed them', but that's me.
Honestly, for this case I would something like: Please don't water these plants. They are already being taken care of.
Por favor, no riegue estas plantas. Ya están siendo cuidadas.

"Agua" is femenine. The masculine singular article is used to avoid cacophony.

I forgot to mention that I'm Chilean and I don't live in the capital (Santiago), so the possibilities of a local library having access to that system is near zero.

I've sent an email (actually, used the contact form) explaining my situation. Let's hope a solution is worked out. :)
I've also discovered how hard it is to write a polite email when most of your experience in writing in english is in informal settings like this site.

They have replied my email and gave me one week of free access to the site, much more than what I expected.
Thanks everyone for the answers!

Best karaoke game with unlimited songs?
There's karaoke games for PC? After much searching I got bored and downloaded a few thousand karaoke mids (.kar, with lyrics), a good software synth (YAMAHA) to make them sound a little better, and VanBasko's Karaoke Player. Sadly, it has no rating system.

I remember reading that Logitech headsets have the problem that they only reproduce sounds that are played after they have been plugged in. Anything that was playing before it keeps being played through the speakers unless you close and reopen the program.

I was going to try to explain further but, on preview, DarlingBri has done a magnificent job. Really, it's not like she'll decide to not go because of something that has been said here.
If anything, I hope this thread will make her want to go as quick as possible, as she's somewhat convinced (wishful thinking?) that it's just an stress thing.

Stop using torrents. If you must steal filez, look into Usenet (much cleaner - better community - Faster - Costs $ usually)
Actually, well seeded torrents from popular trackers are fairly safe. Even more so if they are big private trackers.
The main source for virus when you pirate software is when you download it from the other kind of p2p software: Shareaza, Limewire, Kazaa, etc.
However, I... [more]

Need for speed
I had to do that recently. After saving up a little money I wanted to upgrade my PC. I had to change almost everything: motherboard, cpu, ram (from DDR to DDR2) and power supply.
I had to reinstall everything, Windows (and Xubuntu) failed to boot because of the change.
