Goodbye iPhone, hello cheaper monthly.
You can downgrade. I just did it....I bought an iPhone last October and decided a few weeks ago that it wasn't worth it, so I sold the iPhone and am now back on a regular plan. As long as you stay with AT&T, they'll work with you.

Boxers, briefs or what?
My boyfriend wears American Apparel boxer briefs that are black with white on the seams and...well, let's just say they highlight all the right things. Hot.

Horseback riding. Many Olympians are in their 40s and 50s.

swerve- I didn't see your comment, but I wasn't making an uneducated judgment. With enough money, natural talent and time, someone could start riding in their twenties and be an Olympic caliber competitor by their forties. I say this as someone who has been riding for almost 25 years herself.

No, but it was due to a lack of money, not a lack of talent. If the poster has a modicum of talent and shit tons of money...well, I've seen some crappy rich riders in my time on horses that are doing all the work. It can be done.

Looking for a small town.
Ithaca, NY! We were just there this weekend and I completely fell in love with the place. Relatively liberal and lots of cool cafes and farm stands to check out as well as plenty of outdoor recreation.
That said, knowing what you're interested in would help people answer this question.

Yeah, Ithaca proper might be a little big for you, but there are lots of little towns just outside (20-30 minutes) that are completely lovely. I hear the winters can be rough, though.

How to sell an iMac in NYC.
I figured price might be an issue, but I haven't even gotten any counter-offers. Not to mention that I've been seeing the same ads popping up on CL over and over again...the market there seems saturated. I'm just wondering if there's an alternative.

Laid-back camera salesfolk in NYC?
Thirding B&H For this. They're super patient and when I was buying a DSLR, they even let me wander around the store taking pictures in various degrees of light.

...What am I missing, here?
It sounds like he's waiting for some sign to tell him that things are the way that they're supposed to be. I've been in a relationship like that for the past year and a half and while we still care for each other and get along famously, there has to come a time when you realize that there's either a future for you or there isn't. If he's waiting for a sign from the heavens, so to speak...that future might simply not exist. There's no real reason for it and my heart totally goes out to you. It... [more]

Don't harpoon the beached whale!
I'm about the same size you are and honestly? Fuck the haters. I wear shorts (although long ones, since they're more comfy), tank tops and swimsuits all I want and the worst comments I ever get are cat calls and people asking about my tattoos. You're chubby, but you're not fat. No worries at all. (Feel free to MeMail me if you want to discuss this further. I can totally relate to the predicament, I've just learned to not care.)

TPS- It is being deprived of medical care. "2. Also, I didn't mention how it continues to need medicine since it gets "sick" so often...which they do NOT administer as directed."

Good used bikes in NYC?
CL, or there's a guy on 6th St between 2nd and 1st (I think. Might be 1st and A) who rebuilds bikes and sells them. He'll build basically whatever you want for cheap.

I have similar hair and I've been rocking varying lengths of the pixie cut for years. Sometimes with bangs, sometimes with a fauxhawk, etc. I don't do any maintenance and it usually looks decent. MeMail me if you want picture examples.

I find it hard to maintain friendships with women
You know, I have this same problem and I think what Ashley801 said makes a lot of sense. I give a lot to my relationships and friendships and I find that I rarely get back the same amount of effort from women that I do from men. When I'm with other women, I feel like there's a constant battle of "look at me!" raging from both sides of the fence that simply gets tiresome. I feel like my male friends just pay attention to others better, just as I try to do for them.

After looking at the pictures, the options aren't really beard or no beard; they're frat boy vs. hot indie looking guy. I vote beard.

Advice for faculty position job interview?
I don't know anything about science departments, but re: timing...yeah, I would definitely mention it. If they're hiring this late, I can only assume they really need people for the fall (this is the position my department finds itself in right now) and not being able to teach in the fall may very well be a deal breaker.

D: Are you sure?
Me: Uh, women are hot. But yay cock?
D: Oh.
That kind of shut him up.

Nixing Law School in Favor of a M.U.P?
I'm honestly not sure. I'm currently in Baltimore by way of NYC, and am thinking of heading back there, but I recently fell in love with Montreal and am from Austin and have thought about heading back that way and I hear Portland is nice...

I've already had years of work experience, both related to law and not. I'm graduating college at the age of 27, so don't really want to waste more time working shit jobs, especially shit jobs in politics. (I like law and planning, I don't really like legislation and politics.)

Clarification:
Decent job does not necessarily mean making crazy money. If I were comfortable with my chances of getting into a top tier law school, I know I'd have to work to get into Big Law to make a lot of money to pay off my loans. If the alternative is going into less debt for a Masters and making less money in my job and not working 80+ hour weeks, I'm okay with that.
I'm also not completely tied to the eventuality of getting a law degree.... [more]

everyday expressions of love
Honestly, I'm of the school that if you have to say it to make them believe it, do you really mean it at all? My boyfriend leaves me surprise cupcakes, makes me tea in the morning and brings me gummy bears. That's what shows me that he cares.
(The way to my heart is through my stomach? Maybe.)
