Oh and by "where their people are from" I suppose where your ancestors lived at the time of the Civil War would be a good measure. Those whose families have moved to America since then will just have to base where they move back to on where their earliest immigrant ancestor lived.

I appreciate those reasons and I agree with some of them. However, if I were walking down the street with a friend and we passed a homeless person muttering to himself about diseases and conspiracies and whatnot and my friend started to repeat what that person was saying and make fun of him, then I would think that my friend was being a dick and I would tell him that I don't believe that making fun of those with mental illnesses is any funnier than making fun of a person with cancer. Generally, it seems nice to avoid the 'batshitinsane' tag for people that are, you know, insane.
It is kind of a fine line though I guess. I mean, you can't stop making fun of everyone because they may be crazy to a certain extent. Yeah I am wishing I had just stayed out of this. The thing is, I am having a kid in about two months and I live in South Carolina, so this stuff worries me a lot. I left the small town that I grew up in when I was 18 Mister_A, and I ain't going back. The schools are better here in our state's capital, but still well below national average.
