From Threadless to Serious Threads, FAST
Have you ever been to 99X? I am not sure if you're into the Mod look, but they have some really stylish men's suits by Fred Perry and Merc. They are fitted, and IMO look great on tall men. If you're wearing Misfits shirts and chucks prior, this may be more your style. Just a shot in the dark!

How to deal with post-robbery anxiety?
This just happened to me as well! I live in Los Feliz in a very safe neighborhood. I came outside on Friday morning to find my passenger side window smashed with my ipod stolen. However, that's ALL they took. I just called up a glass company to get my window fixed, then drove to the Mac store and bought a new ipod. I wouldn't recommend contacting your insurance company. I can give you the number the company that I used to replace the window (if you haven't already). They came to my house,... [more]

No Sleep Till Pismo
Ah, I live in SLO! One of my favorite restaurants is Guiseppe's in Pismo. It is so, so romantic with amazing Italian food (coming from someone who used to live in New York...). I would suggest on your way back from Hearst Castle, take a left at the blinking light outside of Cambria to Hwy. 46. It will lead you to some great wineries. I would stop at Grey Wolf, Adelaida, Summerwood, Four Vines, or here's a map. You will eventually meet up with the 101 to take you back to Pismo.
If... [more]

Help me get to know Brooklyn
I second the Williamsburg area. I lived off the Graham Ave. L train stop. The commute was only 10 minutes to Union Square (on a fantastic L train day), the rent was cheap, and the neighbors were fantastic. It's a great area, and near the city. Plus, the pizza was great!

The price of skin products scares me.
Your skin sounds like mine! I have very sensitive skin, and I am very pale. I use Aveeno Positively Radiant. It's about $15, and I was hesitant to buy it. Now I love it! My skin is smoother, and less oily. I found it at Walgreens, and I'm sure it's at any major drugstore. However, when I wash my face I just use the large bottle of Cetaphil. I haven't had any problems, and my skin looks better than ever. Just make sure that you wear at least SPF 15 everyday, as it is SO... [more]

Was this a near miss?
In the United States I know that all aircraft are to be at least 2,000 feet away when in the air. It has substantially decreased over the years because of increased air traffic. Also, wake from other aircraft is the second highest cause of airplane crashes, FYI.
But Canada may be different. I don't know if that helps.

autojack-
So I may have been misinformed by almost every flight crew I have talked to, I do not know. Hell, I am always the first to say that I may be wrong. All I have to back myself up is the words of the many flight crew I have flown with. However, Pilot error (weather) may include airplane wake. Turbluence is caused by everything from weather to wake. It just may not be specific.
I apologize for the non-cited statistic. I'll definitely do my research next time.

I have heard good things about the Flying Pig as well. I'm really glad to see that you like to travel alone as well. One can definitely learn more about themselves by doing so. Kudos!

Coffee, Tea, or Me?
I live in South Ozone Park which gives me a straight shot to the AirTrain. To get to Kew Gardens, I just jump on the Q10. I am a bit familiar with that area, but it seemed so bland...am I wrong?

Peanuts? Life Presever? Headphones?
I am a flight attendant with JetBlue Airways. I love working as a flight attendant, but the only downfall is being bi-coastal as my home is in Long Beach, California. However, I do fly everywhere for FREE.
Oh, and the people can suck. I think it's the constant insidious decompression that makes people a little bit crazy at 37,000 feet.
The training isn't too bad if you can stand never sleeping and never eating. Just watch out because aviation will get in your blood... [more]

Shortest route LGB-Hollywood?
I take the 710 towards Pasadena, to the I5 towards LA, to the 101 Hollywood Fwy. It's super fast for me, and avoids traffic around the 110 and 405 areas.

Trader Joe's job application?
I worked for Trader Joes for three and a half years. The math test was very, very easy.
One of the questions is "What is 10% of $100?" Come on. Great company, great workplace, and I was very sad when I quit.

Are Flight Attendants jacking with my sanity?
This is because statistically all airplane accidents happen during take-off, or landing. The shades are up in the windows so that if an emergency should occur, we can assess the situation outside to get you out of the aircraft safely.
