OMG generichuman that is such a good tip. That concept was utterly foreign to me when I first moved here and it still drives me nuts. You don't actually ever pay weekly and you will probably have to sign at least a 6 month lease with at least a month's notice to leave so the whole weekly rent notice is just misleading and I.don't.get.it.
Also when looking for a flat, there is huge debates about using or not using estate agents, which you may also be unfamiliar with (I... [more]

Best ways to prepare slabs of chicken?
I have tried this soy sauce and sprite marinade and can attest that it is divine.
After marinating I cooked the chicken by creating little aluminum foil packets:
- Create a squarish "basket" using aluminum foil, big enough to hold your chicken breast and about 2 inches high.
- Line bottom with chopped asparagus, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes (this is what I used, obviously you can go nuts with veg)
- Bake at 200 celsius for 15-20... [more]

Skinny jeans for a big butt?
I had a similar dilemma and one "tip" is that what worked for me ended up being a pair of skinny "capri" cut jeans. Not only do I have a similar shape to your fiance, but I'm short to boot. I have found normal skinny jeans are just too damned long and they bunched up over the top of the boots. The capri cut jeans (had some lycra in them for maximum hug and comfort) work great and they'll work through the upcoming warmer months as well.

Most economical way to make your house smell good?
Now that I don't have a dryer, I hang dry things in my room and it has been commented that my room smells like fresh laundry, which I love. And since I do laundry every two weeks the scent is pretty constant.
On that note, I also used to stash used dryer sheets in my drawers too. Easy enough to replace when the next batch of dry linen is put away. Sandalwood sounds like a lovely idea but I think it depends on how much you like that smell. I find it very manly and pleasant.

I agree you probably don't want scads of sunflower oil. Just coat the pan. I've never used sunflower oil, just veg oil so maybe that matters as well? Also, is the oil hot before you put the rice in? My usual MO is to add the rice after all the other ingredients are cooked.
I've had success with basmati so I don't think that matters. As for rinsing, I usually put the rice in a sieve and run a tap through it for about a minute or two.
