MeTa post:
nice trick
For a second there I thought everyone was just pretending to see something that I couldn't see and that was what the joke was.
And then after a few more seconds I started squinting so yeah, neato.

Oh I guess I should say I have the plain theme which is why I didn't quite get it at first but I must say that the plain theme execution is more subtle and neato-er.

'I am not a Microsoft "fanboy"'...
I don't understand a lot of stuff in there, but for some reason the tone of the question stinks like a made up persona to me.
Even if that's off base, I agree with the sentiment that it's chatfilterish as it asks people to speculate on the future based on opinions.

Sans quoi?
This makes no sense to me. Why in the world would you choose such a notorious username risking confusion? It's one thing if you randomly made it up and it's a strange coincidence, but you are apparently quite familiar their online history and yet you persist on using that name? That's just... weird.

del.icio.us profiles
Here's mine.
I usually use it for recipe storing and thus have tags for different ingredients and meal types, all bundled under food. I also have a tag called "made" which means I, uh, made it. And if it still has a bookmark it means I liked it.

Where my stitches at?
Well, technically speaking all knitting is made up of knit and purl stitches. So, you could say you guys are 95% there already. Just a few minor twists of the yarn and you can have a sock before you know it. :)
And fuzzbean, when you finally get an account I'll bet you'll start and finish a new sweater in no time, it's that inspiring and addicting in there! I say you'll finish a new sweater because a 3 year old WIP has no hope of revival ;)

booksherpa - I totally think Ravelry is socially/technologically interesting enough for Metafilter. It's incredibly well done already and I think it's part of the next evolution in "social networking websites" ---> social networking with a purpose. Along with API AJAXY goodness and a lovely interface to boot, behold the power of the knitterly community!
Ok given the beta nature of accounts right now, I guess I'll revisit the Metafilter Groups idea again... [more]

Other than Gmail (and of course the coveted and long gone free Mefi accounts) I can't really recall another website that has such an excited waiting line of potential users. Pretty cool.

All right! I created a group called "Metastitcher", trying to be a little more open-ended than just knitters (and dyers and spinners are welcome too!).
For those already a Ravelry member, I am pretty sure I sent you an invite into the group. For all others, see ya there soon!
