I had a comment of mine from the chat get reposted in the boston thread, which was a relatively innocuous comment, so I'm not really mad about it, but I'd really prefer that that doesn't become a thing. The chat requires a log in to view, it's not archived publicly and the expectations about what people can and can't talk about there are different.

How do you all decide which words to link when you make a post? I've noticed that everyone seems to have different styles (linking full sentences, or phrases, or individual words, site names, page titles, and so on). Has anyone put a great deal of thought into it or does everyone just kind of play it by ear?

We've had a lot of years of Ask Me relationship questions. What does every one think are some of the most
interesting relationship questions we've had so far? Not necessarily ones where we had a great beginning and middle and end of the story and great answers from everyone, but problems that were difficult, or tragic or hilarious or just wtf or were really well written or that told a great story?

There are a TON of Ask Me questions about basic home networking problems -- setting up wireless, why is my cable modem not working, how do I set up a wireless bridge, etc. Is anyone interested in working on a wiki page with common troubleshooting stuff related to that? Is that something that even

When the iPhone first came out, I wasn't able to post a comment directly from the comment page, I had to preview first. Then pb did something to fix it, and that seemed to work for a few months, but now I'm back to having to preview first -- is anyone else having that problem?

This might be too chat-filter-y, but I get the impression that a lot of people on mefi put in serious time in other internet fora before settling here. Just kind of curious if there's a lot of common denominators (Compuserve, The Well, etc?), and if they influenced what you expect from a 'good' online community and that's why you ended up here.

Why do I have to have a verified email address to opt out of mefi mail reminders? It wasn't a huge pain to verify it, but it doesn't make sense that I had to. It should have nothing to do with my email.

Minor usability quibble: When you're looking at who favorites a post, and click a username, it shows their favorites instead of showing their profile page, like every other linked username on the site does. Maybe a different link to show their favorites from that page?
