Quiz night games!

Quiz night games- I'm organising a quiz night for 150+ people (argh!) and need to fill the time between rounds with games. Does anyone have suggestions for interesting and fun games for people to play at a quiz night?

What else is in this invisible backpack?

I'm a straight, white, upper middle class male. I'm aware that this automatically means I generally have an easier time than people with a different sexuality/race/class/gender. That said, I'm probably unaware of what these benefits are. What does this 'privileged' status do for me that I don't even notice?

Two girls, one chap. One potential baby.

What is it like donating sperm to a lesbian couple who are friends of yours?

How does an Aussie geo get to Canada?

This time next year I'll be a freshly graduated Australian geolgist. I'd like to work overseas, and I'm tempted by Canada or the US. What should I be aware of while trying to arrange all this, and how easy would it be to work as close to New York as possible?

I need help already... it's gonna be great!

What tips do you have for someone about to embark on their first year of postgraduate study?

Tell me where to go.

What are some amazing adventures, anywhere on the planet, that take around 3 months to do?

I've lost the Easter Bunny

Bookfilter: my family had a book when all us kids were younger. It was an Easter book that told the story of all the different Easter bunnies delivering eggs, and how one bunny delivered one to a young boy sick in bed. Where can I find it?

My ipod has the flu.

Sigh. iPod problems and I can't figure them out. They key obstacle is "Sync failed: unknown error (-124)", followed by "iPod cannot be synced: required folder cannot be found". More fascating details inside. Fun for the whole family!

How far out of my depth will I be?

So has anyone here attended or been involved with the St Gallen Symposium? I'll be a student participant in this year's one, and I'm hoping to find some advice and anecdotes from people who've been there before.

Is the Big Bad Wolf really that bad?

Tell me about the oil industry. It's one of the places I could possibly work upon graduation. Is it as evil as it is sometimes made to look?

A Tale of Two Pretties

How do you choose between two people who are both indidually wonderful? How do you turn one down when neither of them deserve it? I'm in the best dilemma in the world and can't figure it out.

Why does America have more school shootings than other countries?

I realise this is a very sensitive topic at the moment, but that's what makes it so relevant. It seems to me that the US has a history of school shooting type incidents that no other country has. Is that true? If so, what is it that makes this more common in the US than anywhere else?

I need a miracle.

Water to wine mechanics- help me perform a miracle. I need help for a costume party stunt involving a box of wine and the ability to dispense it miraculously.

Australian customs trouble

Australian customs- does anyone have any experience bringing a wooden drum with an animal skin into Australia?

Juicy Sushi goodness

Sushi! Having read previous questions I'm full of enthusiasm for the end of my sushi-making virginity. To help make it a joyous occassion for all, what are you favourite sushi recipes?

(Opposition to) War, what is it good for?

There are those that say opposition at home to a war overseas is harmful to the morale of the soldiers fighting said war. Have you been/are you in the military? Know someone who is/was? What do they think about that argument?

What's going on in female power dynamics?

Inspired by the question about male power dynamics on the sidewalk, what similar interactions happen between women that men would be totally unaware of?

It's snot right

Okay, I've got a cold, and my nose is dripping. All day long, any medication or remedy is only temporary and the drip comes back. But my question isn't how do I stop it- it's why does it stop when I sleep? Why don't I wake up in a pool of snot?

I want their cash!

How do I go about getting corporate sponsors for a trek down the Murray River (Australia) in order to raise money for a charity? I'm doing it for a legitimate charity, so how do I get companies to donate? I've never done anything like this before, so all help is appreciated.

Save my wine!

What is the best way to store wine long term if I don't have a cellar? I'm particularly worried about the Australian summer coming in six months or so.

Help a poor student play nice music

I'm looking for sheet music for piano. My student bank account requests that it is free, or at least very cheap. One piece by Chopin, one by Yann Tierson (from Amelie) and one by Duke Ellington.

What's it like to give birth?

What is it like to give birth? I'm male, and one of the side affects is that I'll never get pregnant. I'm wondering what it's actually like to give birth to a whole new person.

What happens when young dreams grow old?

How have your life lessons/philosophies/epiphanies etc changed over the course of your life so far? What has changed now? What don't you believe in now that you did ten years ago? And vice versa.

21st kids party ideas

Kids themed 21st birthday party: My 21st is in two weeks and I'm having a kids themed party, so it's back to the days of fairy bread and balloons. I need ideas. So far I'm using a projector to set up a big screen game of Super Mario Brothers, I'm having a pin the tail on the donkey game where you win a shot if you get it even remotely right, and I've downloaded a bunch of theme songs from kids shows back then. Any more ideas?

Let's Play Together

What are fun, real-time game things to play over the internet? I'm in a long distance relaionship and wanting some new things to do together while we're apart. This site is a great example, where two people can draw together on the same page. Anything remotely like this would be great.

What do I dress as in Wonderland?

I need to dress up as something from Alice In Wonderland or Alice Through the Looking Glass. Something from the movie is fine, but I get bonus points if it's from the books.

how do i ask out my friend's cousin?

how do i say this: "i like you and that other night was great, although slightly weird because you're my friend's really close cousin, but he seems cool about it, so, anyway, do you want to do that again sometime, even though it's been a month since that night?"- without coming across as wanting to be too serious or too casual or too weird?

Why have a baby?

Why did you choose to have a baby? I'm trying to get inside the mindset of people who are older than I am and in a very different part of their life. If you're someone who has always planned on having a family, why did you always plan on it and how do you feel about it now? If you never planned on a family and changed your mind, what made you change your mind? If you never planned on children but one come along by accident, how do you feel about them now? I'm looking for personal stories/anecdotes/opinions about it, not so much statistics or figures.

LDR without end

LDRfilter: I'm in a long distance relationship and past questions about them have been really helpful to me. What seemed to be a recurring feature was that people said it was essential to have an end date, or some day that you knew the distance would be over. I don't. Does anyone have experience of this, or can anyone offer advice specific to this situation? Also, any ideas about how an Australian student could somehow live in the same country as an American actor would be great.
