Music post: One For The Road
one thing that could also work--go quiet with the drum track / guitar track for a phrase, and let that vocalization of the phrase take on more significance. you could basically cherry-pick through your lyric lines and test this out on software to find a good "rest" spot.

wow, you're voice can really soar. in an exceptionally good way. evocative in the quiet parts too. please don't change any of that.

Music post: Secular Humanist Love Song
can i just pipe in here to say that you're voice is perfectly wonderful!! the way you're moving through several well-structured scales in multi-syllabic words has always struck me as one of those characteristic "hooks" you find in excellent vocal arrangements.

but heck, i'm no expert. keep it up, and please post some more!

at times brooding, at times punchy, at times liberatingly cathartic.

Music post: moonlight
thanks for the kind words!

i suppose i should have described this as "one track" rather than truly lo-fi, since there did happen to be a pre-amp in the situation.

but somehow the whole notion of "one mic, one voice, one guitar" strikes me as lo-fi, or something? time to coin a word for that.

Music post: Ode to a dead deer
i haven't heard a track in a while that so brilliantly paints a visual landscape, while capturing a world of voices to which humans usually lack access. otherworldly, but eerie how close to all of us this is. thank you.

Music post: AND
sort of reminds me of the orientation video i saw when i joined the Borg. a bit funkier, though, which is a Good Thing.

i would describe it more as "contemplative" than outright "sad." which, to me, is a good thing. i'm envisioning listening to this on a long drive and enjoying it while scenery/thoughts tumble by.

probably not a good fit for the cubicle, i would think.
