Lest anyone miss it on the blue,
this post needs to be added to the list of those that are referred to whenever someone asks what an excellent FPP looks like.

This is a great question but it didn't include the obligatory "For the purposes of a work of fiction..." disclaimer to keep it from being deleted as hypothetical filter.

This is a great freakin question. I'd just like to use it to
once more point out that we really should be able to reopen
this discussion for a more full, rounded finalization.

Next NYC Meetup. Completely last minute (tonight, 6/15), or next week, the 22nd?

File
this under cool questions with a couple really
cool answers from just the right people.
Despite the obligatory "this is a bad idea" warnings.

Is there a bug in
this question? Looks fine on its own page, but on the main
AskMe page it starts with the second sentence: "But this time...". Perhaps something to do with the fact that the first sentence is identical to the title?

Just thought I'd point out
this above average comment from yesterday's excellent post on Northern Elephant Seals, for those who may have missed it.

WCityMike got me thinking with
his recent thread. I like
deleted thread. Frankly I think its uniqueness constitutes BOTW. So...would it violate the rules to do a blue post about it? (AFAIK no one has yet)

Is this an
Ask Mefi Popular Favorites bug? I pulled up the page this morning and
this creepy thread was nestled right under a bunch of threads from 1/26 and 1/25, with a bunch more from 1/25 following it. Is it because a few people recently favorite-d it (it says 5 favorites on the main pop page), and if so, how did they all find it just now? Were a bunch of people recently searching for the answer to this question on Ask MeFi?
(shudder)

Simply because I've always been disappointed we never got to discuss
this question, I'm going to go ahead and ask whether the same ban reason should apply to
this one.

In the
spirit of helpful hive mindedness, I thought I might ask if there's a central repository of sorts for MeFi specific acronyms ("FPP," et. al.). Not
basic internet slang acronyms, but ones used frequently on Mefi pages - some kind of list that might help the younger bees buzzing about.
I seem to remember a MeTa post at one point where everyone went off, acronymically speaking, but after a good deal of searching I haven't been able to find it.
Personally I've resorted to
this tactic for the most part, but I still get curious from time to time. Yes, I have Google, but what I have in mind is a MeFi specific short list / glossary to spell things out for the more recently initiated.

Can anyone help me understand why
this post was deleted? The admin note was a little cryptic (no offense). I've read the FAQ, as far as I can tell it doesn't fall under self linking, although it could perhaps kind of be considered a double posting or re-posting as it were. Anyway, it was a post I enjoyed originally, and I just wanted to point out to people that it was working again - didn't want to piss anybody off. Maybe stuff from MeFi Projects isn't supposed to be posted in the blue? Any input is appreciated.
