Hearing Aid waiting list
The BBC reports that in some British NHS hospitals the waiting list time for a digital hearing aid is 200 weeks (in others it is 2 weeks...) and perhaps 4m people could benefit from an aid, but don't have one.
Not an NHS bashing - but what would the situation be elsewhere? Presumably in some countries - the US? - the waiting list for a digital hearing aid would be infinite, eg if you don't have the money you'll not get one? Does Medicare/Aid cover this over 65? What about Canada?

I'd like to set up a blog for my students to use to discuss issues regarding their study. Can anyone recommend a free to use blog which can have restricted membership? I don't want to moderate the postings. Doesn't matter if the world can read it - just don't want them to join in the chat.

Anyone have medical/anatomical knowledge to support the observation that the pelvic girdle/hips grow wider as a person ages? I don't mean getting fat - I mean literally do the bones spread outwards, increasing the hip size and so the width between the legs. I see this on old men especially

Every time I download any media files (eg AVI, MPEG2, 4) it opens in Quicktime, which means I can't save it (not talking about streams here.) How do I change prefs in XP so that they open in Windows Media Player?
