For my 30th birthday present, my mom is organizing a family girls-only Caribbean cruise for the two of us and my two aunts. According to the travel agent, we have two options. Both are Carnival cruises, with the same ports of call. We're having issues deciding which one to pick.

UbuntuFilter:Linux people - how would you troubleshoot this one? All of a sudden my sound card doesn't exist, my CD burner doesn't burn, and fusermount doesn't want to work anymore. Everything was fine on Monday. Any suggestions on how to figure out WTF is going on?

I am Canadian. My dad was born in France, but is a naturalized Canadian - i'm pretty sure he's given up his French citizenship. Both my paternal grandparents were French, and moved to Canada in the early 1950s (when my dad was 4). What (if anything) am I eligible for in terms of French (or EU) citizenship?

I need help picking a bridesmaid dress for myself, as the maid of honour, for my best friend's wedding. I haven't voluntarily worn a dress since my high school graduation, I've gained a ton of weight in the last year, and I really, really need help. More details and specs after the jump.

Is my manual '02 VW GTI going to roll away? My emergency brake appears to still be working, but all of a sudden it now requires me to pull it up so it's almost vertical in order to feel it engage. Previously, I've never had to yank it up more than a couple inches.

Any recommendations for where to purchase inkjet cartridges online? I'm preferably looking for somewhere in Canada, or will ship to Canada cheaply. I've never actually owned a inkjet before (I've only used lasers), so can someone also tell me if it's worth the savings to get a refilled or off-brand cartridge, or would I just be throwing my money away? I need ink for an ultra-cheap HP PSC 1315, and I'd rather not spend more than the printer cost in the first place.
