I'd be a little more impressed if the kid had been the one with seven bullets in him when he brought the pig down. The story doesn't say so specifically, but as far as I can tell the pig didn't even have a gun.

See, I get the impression that most people pushing the button while flaming out, don't necessarily realize they're flaming out. They think they're saying "I'm right, you're wrong, and I'm taking my ball and going home."

That's just my opinion.
