To bypass the image generation/alternate font problem, why not use an small iframe instead of the image? Then, just have a URL that returns the comment count for a thread...

That way, we can just hit reply and get to them directly!

This sounds like a lot of fun. For programming languages, I think, we should learn the on-standard ones. I'd love a strutted structured place to learn Lisp, Scheme, Haskell, Erlang, or Smalltalk. One of those 'weird' languages...

I don't. I tried clicking the link on the page linked that lead to the inaugural post, but the overlay didn't let me. This was only exacerbated by my scroll wheel not working. I had to use the physical scrollbar!
With that said, I liked the content and I'll keep reading. I love the fact that my RSS reader removes any site-specific breakage.
