Fat and fit? How about a 300lb female triathelete?
Or a fat trainer who sued Jazzercise for discrimination and won?
Or a record breaking open-water swimmer?
Or a 315lb female football player?
Or a maybe an Olympic weight lifter?... [more]

MeTa post: Consumerist, just as annoying as those they fight?
Ben Popken is a dork. He was using photos from Flickr without giving credit for months before getting called on the carpet. I've also taken issue with his "edgy style". I love the concept of The Consumerist, and I think it's thrived in spite of its editor.

I've had minimal contact with them during the last 12 years, but MySpace has closed that gap. Sure, the overall MySpace demographic is quite frightful, but you can insulate yourself prettily easily within your own tight-knit groups. I don't think the idea is completely absurd.

This thread reminds me of a story. I grew up in East TN, and knew a cop who worked on the sex crimes unit in Johnson City who shared this delightful gem with me. Some farmer had called in a complaint about someone killing his chickens. On and off for two weeks, he would wake up to find a dead chicken outside of the coop. Several chickens had been killed, but never more than one at a time. It was too clean to be the work of animals. They set up surveillance, and it turned out to be a chicken... [more]
