I understand where this is coming from, but from what the mods have written previously, MeMail is meant to be a bare-bones private messaging system by design, and any usage more complex than basic call-and-response should be taken to personal email.

I'm in FF (portable) as well. I don't see a bar, but I see asker's comments pulled out into the margin a bit. (I'm also running like three or four GM scripts for this site, which may affect that.

Could anonymous questions automatically get tagged anonymous?

That sounds easier to implement than the pony request, and less stalkery, I guess. For non-anon questions, you could just add the people you like to your contacts and follow them on the front page sidebar. We pretty much have this functionality, just not rolled into the MyAsk page itself. It'd be more convenient -- okay, I've just talked myself into supporting this.

I'm curious, because all I know about the profession is when some scumbag gets caught spamming or astroturfing, plus that mildly funny douchey discussion where they tried to understand MeTa.
