You can never please everyone I guess. -t, lukemeister and peachfuzz are ok this weekend -- but no scottreynen or Dr. Fresh. And vice versa.

Well... we can always do a couple of smaller meets, eh? I'd be ok with that.

yodelingisfun can you do this weekend? Octoparrot...

Anyone heard from koeselitz? (splg?) I should also metamail get FlamingBore, jazon, Eekacat, gregor-e, kozad... I can never put nicks to faces :(

NorthStar Brewery looks good to me -- I've never ventured a-drinkin' on that side of the Platte. Friday or Saturday works for me. Late afternoon / early evening onwards.

Time: 18:00 onwards -- yes, that's 6pm :)

YiF, since you haven't met any of us before, you could always check out photos from a previous meet (photos linked within) so you don't have to approach complete strangers.

But we'll try and fashion a crude MeFi sign from beermats and bodyhair to place on the table.

Darn - we should have organized a Lakeside trip.
Late arriving shouldn't be an issue. Past meetups have revealed that the Denver mefite community comprises hardy souls who are happy to linger on until the wee hours. There is no guarantee that speech won't be slurred however.

A good time was had indeed. -t and I were very happy to get lukemeister to ourselves. He plays with planets and things -- all very interesting.

And we saw the awesome car that -t will be taking on his cross country trip.

That's a fair point craven. I drank 5 (ok 1) pints on my own before I found the MeFi group last time. And subsequently became a drunken mess prematurely -- clearly not my fault.

You do have the advantage of photos from the last meetup -- you can study and commit Mefites' faces to memory. If I remember... I shall bring a wee sign to place on the table(s).

One of MetaFilter's strengths (IMHO) is its wealth of international contributors. In the UK the colo(u)r blue is strongly associated with the right wing of British mainstream politics: the Conservatives (Tories).

Well the votes on Wikipedia (3/1 at time of writing) are against including any mention of color in the wiki piece. Which seems to reflect the overwhelming consensus of this thread.
