Boston Meetup!
Oh, that was me. I got something like $15 worth of presidential and Sacagawea coins from the commuter rail ticket machine a couple weeks ago. I am glad it went to a good cause!

Ia! Ia! Cambridge, MA Meetup!
After spending the day volunteering for the Cambridge Science Festival's opening carnival, I expect to be in great need of beer.

huh, I had to defend, or at least explain, library school to someone too, but I don't think it was Plutor. It was great to meet interesting folks and mill around awkwardly with them!

mathowie is going to ROFL(con)
That's also the opening weekend of the Cambridge Science Festival (/and/ NEFFA); we held a meetup of relatively low attendance but great fun at last year's CSF Science Triva Challenge, which will be on Wednesday the 30th this year. I was hesitant to post a top-level meetup request for that since I wrote questions for this year's event, but if anyone else wants to go, let me know!... [more]

Mefites at FlashForward 2007?
Anybody still watching this thread? I was planning to go to an exhibit opening Thursday night at the Wolk Gallery with tightrope walkers and one of Wendy Jacob and Temple Grandin's squeeze chairs; it'd be great to meet up with people there or afterwards at some local establishment.... [more]

Cambridge/Boston science trivia meetup April 25?
Self-link-ish disclaimer: I work for an organization that is involved with the Cambridge Science Festival as a whole, but has nothing to do with this particular event.

So... meet at the radar dish just inside the Vassar St. door of Stata a little before 6:30, watch trivia for a while, and then proceed to the Cambridge Brewing Company to make up ridiculous science trivia questions of our own?

This is my plan! I will be at the radar dish sometime after 6, identifiable by a large straw hat and a skirt with robots on it. If nobody else shows, I may be tempted to skip the beers part, though.

Horace Rumpole and I wandered around the CBC around 8:40, accosting people who looked like possible mefites (but turned out to be German tourists), annoying the waitstaff, and listening in on passionate discussions of server appliances.
Sorry, no robot skirt pix. Someone else will have to call another meetup (one of these?) to see it.

I think that I shall never see
A post as lovely as a tree
A post whose writer long will fret
Upon the best of the internet
A post that sifts the chaff all day
And won't be called out on the Gray
A post that may in triumph wear
A wreath of pancakes in its hair
Posts are made by fools like me
But only photosynthesis can make a tree.
