MeTa post: Boston Meetup!
Oh, that was me. I got something like $15 worth of presidential and Sacagawea coins from the commuter rail ticket machine a couple weeks ago. I am glad it went to a good cause!

MeTa post: Ia! Ia! Cambridge, MA Meetup!
After spending the day volunteering for the Cambridge Science Festival's opening carnival, I expect to be in great need of beer.

huh, I had to defend, or at least explain, library school to someone too, but I don't think it was Plutor. It was great to meet interesting folks and mill around awkwardly with them!

MeTa post: mathowie is going to ROFL(con)
That's also the opening weekend of the Cambridge Science Festival (/and/ NEFFA); we held a meetup of relatively low attendance but great fun at last year's CSF Science Triva Challenge, which will be on Wednesday the 30th this year. I was hesitant to post a top-level meetup request for that since I wrote questions for this year's event, but if anyone else wants to go, let me know!... [more]

MeTa post: Mefites at FlashForward 2007?
Anybody still watching this thread? I was planning to go to an exhibit opening Thursday night at the Wolk Gallery with tightrope walkers and one of Wendy Jacob and Temple Grandin's squeeze chairs; it'd be great to meet up with people there or afterwards at some local establishment.... [more]

MeTa post: Boston meetup: Friday, Sept. 7
Another maybe -- anybody want to meet at North Station for the 7:35 train?

MeTa post: BOSTON: Shakespeare in the Park Jul. 24
Tonight's no good for me, although I would be pleased to meetup with anyone else who might show up to the MIT contra dance.

MeTa post: Shakespeare in the Park (Boston Meetup)
An hour is probably good for ok seats -- not great, but not out on the sidewalk. Any of the times is fine for me, and I'd bring food.

MeTa post: Yes, I know there just was one...
It's always fun (and free, and all-ages) to see the annual Shakespeare in the Park in a group -- Boston Common, July 24-29, mostly at 8pm.

This weekend, also free, outdoors, and all-ages: movies at the Hatch Shell and Boston Harbor Hotel on Friday.

MeTa post: Cambridge/Boston science trivia meetup April 25?
Self-link-ish disclaimer: I work for an organization that is involved with the Cambridge Science Festival as a whole, but has nothing to do with this particular event.

So... meet at the radar dish just inside the Vassar St. door of Stata a little before 6:30, watch trivia for a while, and then proceed to the Cambridge Brewing Company to make up ridiculous science trivia questions of our own?
posted to MetaTalk by nonane at 4:35 AM on April 24, 2007
This is my plan! I will be at the radar dish sometime after 6, identifiable by a large straw hat and a skirt with robots on it. If nobody else shows, I may be tempted to skip the beers part, though.

Horace Rumpole and I wandered around the CBC around 8:40, accosting people who looked like possible mefites (but turned out to be German tourists), annoying the waitstaff, and listening in on passionate discussions of server appliances.

Sorry, no robot skirt pix. Someone else will have to call another meetup (one of these?) to see it.

MeTa post: Reminder and possible change of venue for Boston...
As a beer-less option, Sunday the 21st is the monthly free day (12-5) at the MIT Museum, if folks would be around then and interested in that.

As a super-beer option, has anyone been to and developed an opinion on the Publick House in Brookline?

Is there any way to get there on the T from Allston that involves fewer than three buses?

I think that I shall never see
A post as lovely as a tree
A post whose writer long will fret
Upon the best of the internet
A post that sifts the chaff all day
And won't be called out on the Gray
A post that may in triumph wear
A wreath of pancakes in its hair
Posts are made by fools like me
But only photosynthesis can make a tree.
