Though I am disappointed by the way things are in the U.S., I think perhaps some of the more... vitriolic critics of the American public in this thread think about why exactly Americans respond with apathy. You seem to be implying that there's something wrong with American people inherently, and that's why they "do nothing."

Not dangerous, but we used to pour silver nitrate on some unsuspecting fool's arm. They would think it was just water, only to their arm turn black as it was exposed to sunlight after class. Good times. That stuff doesn't come off for days.

One of these lies has to stick. Seriously. Isn't there a point where even Bill O'Reilly will say, "You know what? Enough is enough. Bush is such a huge liar that I just have to pull my support for him. As far as I can tell he's never told the truth about anything."

True, Paris. I don't know that, anymore than you know that they aren't rioting because they "know deep-down that Bush is right." So for the sake of meaningful discussion, maybe you could try to avoid saying things like that.

I sympathize with your opinion mk1gti, but it's not true that he will go away (not that I think his mind will really be changed either). Some people try to ignore, others try to reason, others just yell, and to each his own.
