Help me deal with a baby noisy neighbour.
I can speak as a father of a newborn that there is not much that can be done with a crying baby. Some babies quiet right up with food or when picked up, some babies cry for hours and nothing will calm them, its the luck of the draw and there is likely nothing the parents can do about it. What they did last night, might not work tonight, they change so fast.
I can tell you those parents are likely stressed out of their minds, there is no real way to describe the mental,... [more]

Great paper crafts for a 1st anniversary?
for your husband? Make some sexy paper lingerie or write out a coupon for some "intimate time". You'll fulfill the paper requirement and give him what he really wants, you.

Black widow spiders want my blood
During the spring, here in LA, I will routinely kill 5-6 big females a week. Their webs are easy to spot as folks have mentioned above. I find them at night with a flashlight and kill them with this. You have to give them a good spray, but it does kill them. If I get them early enough in the spring, I don't have problems for the rest of the year. If I get lax, I end up killing spiders for the rest of the year.

How to develop a Wayne Rooney football training plan?
I've been playing soccer at various competetive levels for over twenty five years. Improving your touch on the ball means going out and touching the ball. The more time you put into it, the better, and faster you will improve. Practicing juggling the ball with every surface of your foot: laces, outside, inside, heal and inbetween. Practice rolling the ball with your cleats. The liberty bell is a good one too. Practice Practice Practice, its the only way to get better. Learning to use both... [more]

Meet the Kids
I second bingo. I think you're kids already know how you feel about him and will probably support you. I would imagine as a mother, your instincts will tell you if its acceptable for him to spend time with your children. Based on your description it sounds like he is trying to deepen his relationship with you. Put him in a position where he has to take a clear position or make a decision. It sounds like you have known him long enough to do this. This may be all he needs to move forward in... [more]

Roll out the barrel
To get off the bourbon track for a bit, Bushmills Irish Whiskey makes a millenium edition that was sold only by the cask. I don't know if there are any casks left, but several distributors bought casks and sold bottles of the stuff, and excellent stuff it is as well (25 year old single malt Irish). If you're anywhere near California, check out Hi Times Liquor in Newport Beach, or the Wine and Liquor Depot in Van Nuys. If you want to spend 5 digits on spirits, you can in these shops.... [more]

How to get in shape in one month?
I've played competive soccer for almost 25 years and the quickest way to get in shape I have found is running stairs. Combine that with pushups, pull ups, crunchs and you have total fitness. If you're concerned with weight gain or weight loss, you will have to count calories and find the right balance to either side depending on what you want to accomplish. Don't worry about rep numbers, do it until you can't, wait five minutes, then do it again, and one more time. Your fitness will progress... [more]

Exercise suggestions for the injured
I've found that walking for 20-30 minutes is great for keeping fitness inbetween injuries (soccer and mountain biking). Your muscles have memory and just using them lightly will maintain a lot of your fitness while you heal. I've never done it but ObscureReferenceMan's core excercise idea sounds pretty good, I'll have to try that.

How do I learn to forgive?
Reconciling with your parents can be one of the best things you do to move forward in your life. It is important to understand that it is YOU who is reconciling, this has almost nothing to do with them. As Zozo pointed out, you must be the one motivated to do this work, don't do it for anyone else. Also, to expand on jackofsaxons comment, much of who we are we inherit from our parents because of our impresionability at early ages. Accepting your father for who he is means you will have to... This Baggage is Literal
I bought a five piece set (it packs inside itself) at costco for around $100. Its lasted 2+ years, 4-5 trips per year with no problems. I also have a Victronox which is used 10 - 12 times per year (2 years old) which as been repaired 4 times now through the warranty. I 've heard excellent things about Tumi, but don't have one. I don't recomend the Victronox at all. The cheap costco stuff is as durable or more so. Skyway is the brand I picked up at costco

Help me find what I want.
There seems to be a lot of this going around lately. I find myself in a similar postion, and I can certainly identify with your family background. Miko's comment, I think, is right on, I would suggest reading Bly, Zweig, and Jung, all of whose primary ideas revolve around tuning in to the concept of "the shadow" aspect of personality. In addition, I've been recommended Ira Progoff's "At a Journal Workshop" which I have not begun, but looks like an excellent tool for diving... [more]
