Please, please abort this offensive, trolling
post that links primarily to two, year-old NYT articles and is basically an editorial for eugenics.

So, it's come up a bunch of times, most recently
here. Is date.metafilter.com a possibility (or dating status in the profile screen, or whatever was last discussed)?

Fantasy feature: hover over "x users marked this as a favorite" and see the names of the people who did the favorite marking. Whaddaya think?

This question about harassment seems to be striking a chord for a lot of folks. Possible sidebar?

When I click on 'popular favorites', the number of favorites for each post is consistently wrong. I think the number I see corresponds with how many favorites the post had when I last clicked it.
This question feels familiar to me - I think this has been discussed here before - but as
I mentioned earlier, I have a difficult time searching for stuff here.
If you want to point me to a previous discussion on this, feel free. Thanks.

It's pretty difficult to find things in the archives of askme, and I think that probably contributes to the huge number of questions posted each day. [mi]

Why is
this still up? Isn't it basically a LOLPERVERTS post? [mi]

When I go to "my posts" and then try to select "activity threshold" one month, the page always refreshes as 24 hours instead of one month. I can choose any other increment of time no problem.
I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.6 (5.0?) whatever that means on a Mac. Thanks.

Is the "The link you entered (http://etc/) was found in 1 previous thread." warning new? Cool, helpful feature! I had used the search field to check for previous posts, but hadn't found it - presumably because I was linking to a different page on the same site.
(Won't it be funny if someone posted this before? [nervous laughter])

Is someone compiling/has someone already compiled statistics such as: the average number of favorites per post, the average number of comments per post, comment quantity by time posted, average number of favorited posts by user, etc? I assume this has been discussed here in meta previously, but I couldn't find it in searching. Feel free to direct me to old threads on this topic though.

I feel like a jerk even saying this, cuz maybe this is totally legit, but can
this guy be real? He has 7 kids and still has time to have sex 12 to 14 times a week? He makes 500-750k? He made straight 'A's all his life without studying? Yet he was always popular? I didn't want to call him out in the thread. Maybe he's totally for real. Maybe he's just slightly exhagerating. Maybe this question is too open ended and everyone will proceed to flame me. (Bring it on flamers!) But.... Thoughts?

Women aren't funny. Please don't pretend not to know what I'm talking about.
I don't know - I think if you filled in an ethnic group and some other behavioral stereotype, with a link to a simularly bigoted rant that contains no scientific information, this post would be seen as explicitly and obviously offensive.
I'm not sure what the best action is here - it's not so overtly offensive that I necissarily think it should be removed. Reading back on previous Meta discussions it seems that this type of post is generally left standing, and looking at the faq, I see that bigoted language is not necissarily a qualification for deleting, but posts that are just saying "this group of people is inherently bad at x compared to that group of people, don't pretend you don't agree with me, and here's a link to some wingnut saying that too" seem to serve no purpose but causing people to freak out. Thoughts?

I wanted to post about the current threat to abortion rights along with some links to information about how to get or do abortions. One of the links I wanted to include was to a book that I worked on. Is it inapropriate to put this post on the main page? (Since I wasn't sure,
I posted it on projects.) Advice?
