Hey, sports fans: I'm trying to come up with a list of connections the Boston Celtics have to Los Angeles. Some of the current roster went to high school or college here... but I'd like to come up with more than the obvious.

Recommend to me film noir musicals, either performed on stage or screen. Stuff that almost falls within the genre is good as well. Murder, gumshoes, gangsters, speakeasys, the 30s, 40s, or 50s...

Need suggestions for naming a new political/news blog based in Los Angeles. The focus will be on local politics, but also on national issues that affect the L.A. area.

Crazy Wordpress plugin request: A way to automatically resize and autocrop images and place them into a post without manual uploading - just providing an image url from elsewhere on the web.

There's a great magazine style Wordpress theme called "Gridlock" which allows for some cool tricks, but appears to be limited in terms of changes.
First take a peek at the theme.
And the download page.
It has a large spot at the top for the newest article, and then below this, side by side, are the next two most recent entries.
The problem is there doesn't seem a way to another row for more posts. The designer explains the reason he doesn't want to make this an option is because he likes it the way it is - however, it is open source, so he encourages others to tweak it.
Any coders out there up to the challenge to figure this out?
The other major request is finding a way to make this theme centered on the page... although I've read of some workarounds online already.

What is the best book about the Manson Family? I'm looking for details on not just the infamous murders, but the group itself - what attracted people to join "the family", what were the internal dynamics like, etc.

Why is GMail and Yahoo mail so sluggish, but everything else fast on my network? Just about every other site works fast and great - YouTube, even BitTorrent downloads - but GMail and Yahoo mail both hang like crazy. Sometimes reloading the page works for a few minutes, but not always.

Having a helluva time finding a book I saw once: It was a guide to roadside infrastructure items, including electric boxes, lightpoles, etc...

I want to set up my next blog similar to how Sploid! looked (www.sploid.com), or so that entries don't simply appear stacked, most recent first. Are there existing templates or codes available that could do this in Moveable Type, Word Press, or any other utility?
