Nit-picky TiddlyWiki alternative

Yet another wiki question. I would like to migrate away from using TiddlyWiki as a personal wiki to one capable of handling a lot more data, but I need one specific function.

Digital Transfer?

DigitalTransferFilter: I have a Hi-8(I think) tape with about 30-45 minutes of video on it from 2001. I would like to get it transfered to a digital format in the DC area. Recommendations?

Similar books to The Terror

BookRecFilter: One of my favorite authors has just knocked my socks off with his most recent book. I love what he did so much that I'd like to find other historical fiction like this. *Small spoiler for The Terror inside*

Carne Asada

The House of Death A DHS/DEA/DoJ/US Media coverup. Another victory in the War on Drugs?
When 12 bodies were found buried in the garden of a Mexican house, it seemed like a case of drug-linked killings. But the trail led to Washington and a cover-up that went right to the top.

Wool from thine eyes

Missing presumed tortured More than 7,000 prisoners have been captured in America's war on terror. Just 700 ended up in Guantanamo Bay. Between extraordinary rendition to foreign jails and disappearance into the CIA's "black sites", what happened to the rest?

Roll one for your health.

American Journal of Cardiology reports that extensive use of marijuana doesn't hurt your cardiovascular system. Remember it also doesn't increase your risk of lung cancer. Previous MeFi

Burn one down

Marijuana doesn't increase your risk of lung cancer. As presented at the American Thoracic Society International Conference today. "Even very heavy, long-term marijuana users who had smoked more than 22,000 joints over a lifetime seemed to have no greater risk than infrequent marijuana users or nonusers."

Beaches around the DC area?

BeachFilter: My wife has put me in charge of locating a nice beach to go to this August. We live in DC and will be taking our son (he'll be 13 months old in August). We are planning on going over a long weekend, maybe 4 days. We'd like to keep the driving distance to less than six hours.
