some commenters become obsessed with outing a pseudonymous troll calling itself "
Rachel Tension." We need to talk about the ethics of outing, unmasking, and breaking anonymity.

Suggestion to reduce complaint-filter: a MeTa queue similar to anonymous AskMe. If a complaint can be handled by an admin one-on-one, the admin can deny the requested post and take the conversation to e-mail. If it's a meetup request or a policy issue that seems worthy of discussion, the admin can approve it and let everyone chime in.

PIRG post might be fantastic, or it might be crap. It might be the best post of the month, or just pure drivel. I can't tell. Any chance an admin could go in and clean up the smart quotes issue?

What's it all for, anyway? Why do we fight? I mean, where's it going? What happens if the whole ball of wax just up and disappears one day? In short, why are we here? I'm speaking of Metafilter, of course! Pony-please: An admin blog detailing site-related news, plans in development, maybe a good call-out now and then. This seems preferable to combing MeTa for stray comments in re the
next big thing.
