Run for Craig 20-year-old Craig from Cincinnati is battling testicular cancer. His nine weeks of chemotherapy began last week, and he's already begun to experience its nasty effects. A few people are running to support him throughout the course of his treatment. If you're like me, and would rather die than move in any kind of fast athletic way, you can also donate to his cancer fund, purchase a t-shirt, or simply leave him a supportive comment. He needs some cheerleaders right about now.

Wallace Stevens Wants You to Dress Up for Him Wallace Stevens's 127th birthday is coming up on October 2nd, and I want to throw an internet party for him. I want you to send me pictures of yourself, your cats, your babies, and your dogs dressed as lines of Wallace Stevens's poetry, and I'll post them to the birthday blog throughout the entire month of October. I also want suggestions about the kind of music we could play at such a party, the kind of food we could eat, the kind of decorations we could hang, and the kind of games we could play. Predictions: it will be mindblowingly fun, and Wallace Stevens's birthday will henceforth replace the concept of Halloween in the minds of everyone in the western world.
