If you click the main link in
jonson's post, you go to
a known Holocaust denier's website -- maybe you're at work and you don't want to do that, or maybe Holocaust denial is illegal in your country. Or maybe you just don't want to give traffic to the guy. Anyway, the link is there, and it's not tagged as nsfw.

And fuck the Texas bashers most of all.
Bunch of ignorant bigots
If you're making a post about Texas you should reconsider, as many recent threads have ended in shouting matches that do nothing good for the site or the community. If you do insist on posting about those subjects, make sure it's actually something of major importance or at the very least interesting, and not just another news blip about a teacher being fired for taking their students to a museum.

In a handful of comments,
kjc managed to casually explain us that
Anne Frank's diary is a postwar forgery and Elie Wiesel (whom he calls "Weasel") is a liar. The user seems to have a problem with the Jews, you know, the
"indifferent" ..."tribe" that the first time around
didn't accept Jesus as the Savior and won't accept him when he comes back, the ones who "holocausted" "tens of millions of Russians" and, why not, there's time to enlighten us on the Jewish Bankers who did many bad things using "
the Rothschilds International Crime Syndicate". Now, none of my friends belong to the Klan or to neonazi groups so in a way I might be guilty of discriminating against nazis, but really, revisionist lies and antisemitism are hardly part of that elusive Best of the Web (especially when they're stink bombs planted in great FPP's like madamjujujive's). Also, keep in mind that around here people get banned for saying "fuck you" to other users or for making vitriolic fun of the overweight and their eating habits, so speech seems to have some limits here already after all. madamjujujive has posted
225 links.
And that's a lot of links -- all interesting, quirky and smart. I don't know how she does it, but I hope she never leaves MeFi. Thanks, mjjj.

"
You guys have some sense of outrage over something that was a goof".
O.K., let's play, then, since it's such a funny a goof, apparently. I volunteer for the next MetaSurvivor round -- let's give my many MeFi friends a nice fat chance to vote me off the island. Two requests, though. 500 dollars are bad for my ego, let's make it 1,000. And I don't care enough about CreativeCommons
(sorry!), so if you want to kick me out you have to donate to
these guys. Who wants to play with me?

I am very much against the anti-gossipy-threads bias of so many users and of Numero Uno. More inside.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't date scarabic
(especially since he thinks that as a man he's "wired to kill" and "rape everything in sight"), but
I tend to keep that not very relevant info for myself. are we seriously supposed to share on AskMe our evaluation of other user's desirability as girlfriend/boyfriend? because if we indeed are, things could get pretty ugly pretty soon on AskMe

It's definitely the most horrible tragedy
(and biggest news event, too) to hit the US since 9/11, no question about that. I'm just curious: will the Katrina posts ever end, in the near future? what's Matt's policy in this case? In short: what's the difference between a Katrina post that stays up and one that gets deleted? I don't mind Katrina being a large part of the front page, these days, of course. I'm just wondering. Frankly, most of the Katrina front page posts I see could have been just posted as comments in other threads, no disrespect intended.

"A link to NAMBLA is just wrong". I agree. At least on the front page, it's wrong.

Posting links to websites in languages other than English:
previously discussed, but without clear guidelines. There's a great link I could post -- but even if the images are a key part of what makes that site's interesting, it's not in English. More inside.

Cashmere sweaters, rare organic green tea, fine arts photography, designer sex toys. This, and much more, just happened at the First MeFi International Transoceanic Interfaith Metrosexual Milan Meetup. More inside.

I recently had to switch (temporarily) from OSX/Safari-FireFox to Windows 2000/FireFox. Since then, every time I post a thread on the Front Page, I get an error message. Funnily enough, I then open another tab and see that the thread went to the Front Page anyway. But I get the error message every single time I post. See inside for text of error message.

Once I ran to you, I ranNow I'll run from youThis tainted love you've given
75% of this "anonymous" guy's output is love-related. I keep reading that we suck at politics, we suck at religion, we suck at (insert your favorite pet peeve here). I dare to suggest that, no disrespect intended, we suck at giving love advice (assuming that giving useful love advice is actually possible, which I doubt). Is this just a coincidence, or we'll use the anonymous feature mainly to turn AskMeFi into Mr/Mrs LonelyheartsFilter/BrokenheartsFilter?

"Why can't homosexuals take responsibility for their role in the propagation of HIV infections? It was their culture and practices that facilitated HIV infection and tipped the balance to epidemic. Even before this male homosexuals known for their association with transmission of disease".
"Queens are pathetic in old age as their protestations about the faults of others fail to hide their wrinkles"
Jesus you people* are hateful, and smug too.

I know that we need more diversity of opinion here on PinkoFilter, but where's the limit (if there is one)? (more inside)

The I/P FPP nightmare is back with a vengeance. Three of them only yesterday. Even Evanizer can't stand this anymore. I know it's been discussed before, but what about a limit of let's say 2 I/P threads a day? Since they become painful flame wars anyway, 2 is more than enough isn't it?
