Yea! Thanks for the post! Viacom has actually just started blocking Canadian IPs from seeing the Comedy Central site. Just moments ago, I was rejecting the option of downloading some microshaft sliverlite to watch the daily show on the weird canadian comedy site to which I was redirected when attempting to go to comedycentral.com

Wow! This is great! I've thought of moving back to nyc just to be able to go see/hear the Hungry March Band again. Opa! --> remembering the time they played the staten island ferry....the time they played the Orange line subway to Brighton Beach... the time they destracted the masses before a game of Flaming Soccer! Yee-ha ha!

I have thought for a long time that teaching some form of meditation in schools would be an amazing gift to kids. Start 'em young. It shouldn't be sectarian, but rather a tool for self-learning. I realize that in public (US) schools this is never going to happen. Pity, that.

I lived in the Lower East Side back in the 90's. I almost didn't move there at first because it seemed so desolate. Then a year later, a swedish bistro (14$ lingonberry pancakes) opened up on my street: Beginning of the End.

I miss NYC a lot and think regularly about moving back. This totally depressing news puts the big ol' damper on those fantasies.
