Also anecdotal, but I've worked in open plan offices and had good experiences where I thought productivity was enhanced. The work was highly collaborative so having easy access to co-workers was really great. Everyone had to be respectful of each other in terms of noise and such but, depending on the work, it can be beneficial. All the staff, including the bosses was on the floor, too, so it made access to the managers and bosses much easier.

Okay, so I just paid a guy $85 to come over and fix it. He backed up all my data and wiped the hard drive. Good enough for me. I guess it just really irritates me that without having a degree in computer science, I have no hope of solving this myself. It's all a totally alien language that to my mind, is designed to be incomprehensible. There are lots of things that I can figure out on my own with a manual and some good advice; this was not one of them. My next computer is a Mac.

I don't think any determination of alcoholism is possible just by looking at the number of drinks someone has. It's not the quantity that one consumes but the drinker's relationship to that quantity. Sounds to me like you've just hit that annoying age where your metabolism slows down and you just can't eat as much as you used to without gaining. Be sure you're cutting out the right calories. and keeping the good ones. Getting enough protein and fiber are key to making me feel okay when I'm trying to reduce. Whether to take the train is somewhat dependent on what you end up wanting to do while you're in the city. Certainly taking the train in (though Sunday schedules are a bit sparse) and then switching to the el to go up north would be easy. Also depends on how much you want to walk but parking in Lakeview is pretty grim.

god only knows what "deviant" behavior the rest of your unknown neighbors engage in that hasn't been publicly announced. Hate to disagree with PowerCat but clothes DO matter. I've been mistaken for much younger than my age all my life and it sucks to always be underestimated and dismissed. I can't imagine that it would be possible to wear the Diva Cup during sex -it's worn too low (I have one). I thought the Instead fit more like a diaphragm and if so, shouldn't pose a problem in terms of being noticeable (I had one).
